  • Don Furner Snr

Just reading that Don Furner Senior has passed away. He took the Roosters to the Grand Final the year I was born (1972). Sad news. I always wanted to see David Furner play for us but it never happened, thoughts with the Furner family.

Sad day. Great player... maybe not a good time to think about his management skills.

Nice to make it to your 80s but sad for the family.
Kind of like the Graham Murray of coaching. Success came to the clubs after he'd left but laid the platform.

Only a remote chance seeing he never played for us.

Revered Coach though and paved the way for Jacks success in the mid 70s with us.

You are probably referring to his son Don Furner jnr......if u are talking about management of the Canberra Club or his other son David if you are referring to his coaching ability.

Though Don jnr never played at NRL level Don Snr did play first grade in the 1950s and or 60s a long time before you or I even knew what RL is or even existed lol. His other son David played and coached.

                  Stay off the drugs Jizz.......

                    RIP Don Furner.

It is always sad to hear about someone in the rugby league 'community' passing away, but especially so when they had been involved with our club somehow.
                    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
