I think the ad should have just re-created the same 1990s ad with modern footage, teams and players

The true beauty of footy is having something to distract you from world issues, problems and politics and how the ad should have been - just footy, even with WNRL teams included training and playing footy as they are now part of the game but I don't think it was needed to show anything other than 'footy'

I feel this ad was more about proving to new markets that the game has changed for the better over the last 30 years, and these new markets are probably all for these changes but aren't interested in actually watching the game. So better public opinion, but not many more viewers - if anything may put off traditional viewers who are are just hanging on. Maybe these new markets will add numbers down the track but will take time so maybe its an investment but I think the ad for the season should be trying to build hype for that season to those likely to watch the game so that they do tune in

really a cheap crap ad typical NRL its like their GF entertainment expecting Lopez and Shakira and you get whatever they had on last year.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

it's obvious the game is run by qld? to get some game time you've got to have a viking clap or an indigenous flag? we don't need tv exposure we know were the best and have the results to prove it

            Thanks Roosters1908!

And as others have said more Roosters footage please! Best team of the NRL era and get a glimpse of them lifting one trophy as well as other teams and not back to back trophies at least (like that wasn't a huge milestone in the NRL's history)

Was sucking up to the clubs with 'large fan' bases - and way to much souffs footage for my liking, should have shown them crying when they got booted or selling their club off in 2006. the 2018 or 2019 finals against them would have also been good

Guessing 1/2 the issue is that they've used Latrell as an indigenous hero wearing his Souffs cape... and then they've been like 'aaaw fark!!! He's in all the Roosters highlights too so our story about them being the club that nurtures all the indigenous kids at a grassroots level doesn't check-out!!! What do we do?!?!?'

Load of PC rubbish. PK said it best will only further divide people, it’s supposed to bring people closer the NRL butchered it.

Im not concerned about the lack of acknowledgement or inclusion of the Roosters feat of B2B, it is abundantly clear everyone (apart form us lucky Easts fans) is sick of the Roosters and the hate has never been more obvious so sit back enjoy another year of Easts dominance, to everyone else enjoy ‘making up the numbers’ the real comp and the real Eastern Suburbs Roosters will show up come finals time. 3PEAT!!! Go EASTS!

people being gay isnt political. why does latrell representing his people bother you so much?

Take out Mitchell in the flag and replace it with him onfield, take out the lesbian kiss and put in a big hit from WNRL, and replace Mackelmore with somebody else and it would be a good ad, but srill nowhere near as good as the original.

                        Divisive, pandering crap.
A giant leap backwards and into the woke crap that represents all that is wrong with modern media.

                          Hmmm...

Well one was illegal and, well, we know how Aboriginals were treated for nigh on 200 years.

Just on the media though. This is how they tend to play out...

                            "Outrage! NRL not inclusive!"

                            Followed by:

"Outrage! NRL consumed by politically correctness!"

I just tune out from the ****s. As a result, I'm neither impressed nor outraged by the new ad.

It was illegal to be gay until the 80s. and christians arent oppressed, you're just not getting preferential treatment anymore and you're mad about it. welcome to the real world.

Yep. It's sad but those that want to promote minorities and self-loath are actually practising the opposite of inclusion.
