I'm not being too sensitive about it but I hate how it is a norm these days that when so called progressive people resort to labelling people with a more conservative view in order to shut them down. I'm happy with your views of the ad because you have your sets of values but at the same time you should respect those that don't think like you because it's not like you are going to change theirs, well not by going it this way. The ad to me is shit and so say many others, but it's not about you. Anyway that's all from me. Enjoy Moose!
I completely agree ROC. Only last week I and many others who made comments which were apparrently lefty-loony in nature were branded sooks etc etc. So it works both ways. As I said then, just stick to the facts of the argument without the added 'you're a PC loving, loony leftie, alarmist, apologist' or 'you're a right wing, red-neck bogan' commentary..

And I completely agree mighty rooster , certain people with different views seem to attack everything ,I and others say without respecting that not all agree with them, so they set upon you calling you racist , funny enough I have indiginous son in laws who get along fantastly with , predudice against gays , voted yes in the vote , left wing , not even sure what that's about so maybe , among other things , I truly believe the ad should have been about football , nothing more or less , the game and that's what it is a game is a release for everyone from all walks of life to come together and forget the rest of what's going on in the world , something that should bring together not cause division by bringing outside agendas to the game , it's not about war , gays , race , politics , or work , it's about football and mateship that football brings .

I say let's go back to that 1999 poem, "Blow that Whistle, Ref", the ode to rugby league, by Tom Keneally!

In all seriousness, I am not a fan of the add either. Stick to the game we love. The original is still the best.
          MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

i mean you couldn’t go past the bubbler and the mitchell pearse pooch parade. Special mention to Joel monahan. As I said that would fill 30 secs alone. Any other highlights?
A still shot of Myles poo at the Crowne plaza Terrigal could get a run followed by Freddy running around starker in Townsville.....also the Gasnier fire up bitch phone call with Mini's phone... Perhaps that could be the soundtrack?.....

Not what I would have done, but I don't mind it.
I would have preferred someone that had done something for the indigenous community to be wearing the flag instead of LM.

I also look at it this way, we are but 1 of 16 and I would rather other teams celebrate their appearance in an ad while we get to celebrate premierships that they won't get
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Souths supporter here, not a huge fan of the ad.

I'm a bit worried Mitchell is no longer a problem for Roosters and is our problem now. Carries around more baggage on his back than just the indigenous flag.

Think you may need to change teams by the sound of it

Hi Pride. Obviously a brilliant player on his day but comes with a huge ego and heaps of baggage. When a successful club like ours has a player of his calibre and decides to cut him loose that says a lot.

Hang on, don’t let Mickie hear you being sympathetic to Souths fans or he might think you eat Smiths Crisps
                          ..it’ll be interesting to see

Mickie only hears what he wants to hear. He ate all the Smiffs Crisps, and Purple Bricks already and theres none left so hes moving on to rather damp saos next.

Great post - I don't like the ad, simply because it focuses more on agenda-driven non-footy issues that only cause division, whereas there are so many onfield highlights that could and should have taken pride of place.

I don't give a damn what sexual preference anyone has or what race or colour anyone is - in the end we are all just people. But by the ad highlighting certain communities, it's as if the NRL consider them more important. Which is wrong. And this middle aged female is pissed off about it. Even more so as the only footy team that gets any real air time in the ad is Greenburg's pet project, the filthy Vermin.
