These people and many others may well like to start taking into consideration the impact on the average person who dont have 200k incomes or mega savings . A lot of us don't get paid to stay at home ,and cant work from home .
On the news government admitting 10% or more unemployment is on the cards , many business to close . I don't know the answer , just know that what is going on isn't it.
Any one on government benefits will continue to be supported but many hundreds of thousands of people are about to have there lives and lively hoods ripped out from under them and anyone who cant see that obviosly have the money and assets to get though . Lives are important but so are lively hoods .

ScoMo seems to be about to announce stimulus package 2
He seems to be getting Alan Jones' message..."We must keep business in business and people in jobs".

Gladys has cancelled until the end of the financial year, payroll tax [an outrage in itself] for businesses with a payroll of less than $10m.
She's going to announce a state stimulus package tomorrow or something.

Payroll tax exemption won't help if there are no customers , people are being told not to go to restaurants and cafes , casuals are already being put of , if over 65 and the sick are the ones at high risk why don't we just quantine them and any one gets sick they should recover . Must find a way to keep people employed and shops open

Yes, one day you're going along ok in life and the next day you get whacked by something not of your own doing.
        Life's a bitch sometimes.

        • Was driving home this arv and saw a Roosters radio podcast come up from the COO Jarrod Johnstone regarding COVID-19. Clicked on it but it didn’t work and now it’s gone.

Did anyone manage to listen to it?
If so, what was it about?
          ..it’ll be interesting to see

            • Meanwhile, over at that other club...

              Daily Telegraph today:

Latrell Mitchell avoids NRL lockdown by heading home to Taree.
Faced with the choice of being stuck indoors in virus-hit Sydney or heading home to go fishing and to hand out footies, Latrell Mitchell took the obvious choice.

While the rest of the NRL has basically gone into lockdown, free-spirited South Sydney superstar Latrell Mitchell returned to his north coast home town of Taree on Wednesday with the blessing of his coach Wayne Bennett.

And instead of hiding indoors, Latrell got back to doing what he loves best: Fishing, jet skiing and handing out free footies to young locals.
Two days out from Friday night’s huge clash against Bennett’s old club in Brisbane, Bennett conceded that he wasn’t aware that Latrell had returned home.

              #####

Ahem, 'social-distancing', 'lockdown' to try to save the season and the code.

              and; Daily Telegraph today;

Russell Crowe wants “revolutionary thinking” to save the NRL season – and believes the first step could be playing games in the high humidity of regional towns.
“There are a lot of little towns with well-lit sports grounds and motel and hotel accommodation, gyms and war memorial pools.

“Bus teams around, no planes, even billet with local families.

              Revolutionary it would be.
Think gyms and pools are closing.
Think the players and clubs are being "isolated"/"locked down" so they don't have contact with the general public and get sick.

              • Well that's confusing ....How does he go home to Taree with the blessing of Bennet, if Bennet isn't aware of him returning home ??

I predicted his walkabout by Round 3. I was wrong. Obviously needs to ‘clear his head’ after being hooked. Going home and crying to Mummy should do the trick for him.

Fossil Bennett’s memory wouldn’t be too great these days. Shouldn’t he be isolated in an elderly persons home at his age? I’m just loving how he is raping Souths. Going to leave that club in termoil.

                    • Maybe Lattrell could hop on the jet ski in the second half when he runs out of puff. Could do some damage.

Lol, well that didn't take long for Latrell to head to Taree. But like the media keeps saying, you couldn't find a better coach to manage him than old Wayne! Like Robbo was completely useless at managing him for the past 5 years or so!

Life’s a bitch, I work 5-6 days a week, my wife 2-3 days a week, both of our status is casual and receive no Centrelink benefits, but if locked down we’ll have no income whilst rent and bills need to be paid, so how do we do it!

I will keep going out to work as long as there’s work and keep alert and pray and hope for the best.

                              Agree lol Latrel

Will be a PR disaster for souffs. It couldn't happen to a nicer club. Bottom line, not our problem anymore.

We all know sport is a small thing in the big scale of things but it still sucks to have the season more or less taken from us. Again, there are bigger issues but it is going to be a long year with no sport to entertain us. I wouldn't say I'm depressed but definitely deflated and genuinely worried.
The concern for me is the uncertainly. Nobody knows when/how this will end. Could it be over in a month, a year? We don’t know.
