  • I'd love to see the posts you refer to about being a 13 yr old and having my dad who died in 1988 introducing me.
Might I suggest that someone else was playing games.

I haven't checked because I'm too 'scared' to venture out of the village gates...lest my footy supporting days get cut short. Community transmissions are increasing.
Even staying inside the gates could see me in trouble if I have contact with other people....refer Caddens retirement village near Kingswood western Sydney, a staff member has allegedly infected 2 residents and 2 other staff. 100 residents and the other staff are being tested. Police now investigating.
My village has hundreds of residents, some were planning to take cruises and be returning about March, I'm told...I'm not a social butterfly.
Others were away in caravans/motor homes [before the restrictions]. Are they home now, where have they been to, with whom did they socialise?
Now the village streets are empty, whole place resembles a ghost town, seems my ilk are a lot wary too.
All I know is that I've placed 2 online orders with WP in the last 2 weeks and am still unable to order TP. In my mind that is not 'back to normal'.
RWB has given me some advice about something to try.

Asian countries fear coronavirus resurgence: "I am nervous"

      *******************

      https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/co...9defe4eda3d4e4

Australia has taken a swipe at the World Health Organisation which has stunningly backed China’s right to reopen its “wet markets”, largely suspected to have been the initial source of the global coronavirus pandemic.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said it was “unfathomable” WHO has supported live animal markets, which the UN body claimed was a source of livelihood and food security for China’s vast population.

Despite the virus, COVID-19 has now infected 1.9 million people and killed 120,000 in 215 countries – having originated in Wuhan, where those wet markets opened on the weekend after being closed in January.

“I’m totally puzzled by this decision,” Mr Morrison said.
“We need to protect the world against potential sources of outbreaks of these types of viruses. It has happened too many times.”

A wet market in Guilin, China, selling dog meat as well as live dogs for slaughter.

The rest is too vile and disgusting to print here.
Dogs and other animals brutally tortured to death.

The West has dog shows, 'dogs are people', ...the East [Vietnam and India get a mention in the article] has other practices.

Begs the question; Is it now time to separate the East [inc India] and West, totally, permanently?

        • Johnny73,

The major problem with that post of yours is that I never went down that road...not for one second.
...having been mentored at church Sunday school from a small boy, with song, that::
          "Red and yellow, black,and white,
all are precious in His sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world".

Fast forward to today, where dogs are being skinned alive and tossed alive nto tubs of boiling water "the more tortured the meat the better it tastes"...in seemingly most of Asia etc...and I have to cower in my home for fear of dying from a virus eminating from there which is killing people of my ilk etc...so I ask that question.

I for one am extremely thankful you are cowering in your home as you are simply too clueless to be allowed to roam free.

            Chook.

How is that a decent thing to say , the bloke and his missus are older Australians and are susceptible to this virus . Wet markets are the cause of this virus and should not be allowed to reopen .
He is correct in saying that and as such I would say he is not clueless.

That character never has anything decent to say so wouldn't worry about it. Just another social media abuser.

                • FWIW (and maybe it's not worth much) i'd say BB is a bit of an aspie. probably been bullied all his life so has developed a kind of thick skin blithely going on his merry way. i'd also guess most/all of what he writes about himself is the truth.

i don't agree with some/a lot of the things he says but there's no doubt he's one of the unique characters on this site. live and let live.

Where did the virus come from?
                      Yes.

How did the virus get here?
I'll take a guess and say it didn't float in on the wind.

How are we going to stop this virus, or the next virus without complete segregation and travel bans?
                      Maybe you have some suggestion/s?

Videos of what's going on in China/Asia are freely available on Youtube.

Ray on the radio just said that:

                      "People are emailing me saying:
'Nothing wrong with those wet markets, they're just like our fish markets'".

Not quite, even if disregarding the horrific animal cruelty to man's best friend etc.

Because these wet markets have been operating in China for centuries.
Because regardless of what you think the "West" has absolutely no right to tell any country, particularly one from the East, to do anything. The West has plundered and pillaged the East for decades and now they are doing something that has a detrimental affect and upsets us, they are supposed to abide by our moral grandstanding? lol fark off!
The West are more than happy to exploit the East and their economies for cheap labour and massive profits, but when it comes to them they have to shut down their insidious industries for our benefit?
It was not that long ago Nike were sponsoring Tiger Woods for more money then they were paying their entire workforce in the East to produce their overpriced shit.

That is the cluelessness I'm talking about and it is matched by your ignorance of the history between East and West.

                        Chook.

                        • There are 2 seperate issues. Wet markets exist all over the world, including Australia, so to say they should be closed down is crazy. What isn't crazy is suggesting those wet markets should not be selling wild animals etc. If this is happening still, it should be stopped by all means.
                          ...

Sovereign nations, they don't have to do anything. They can do what they like. Their nations, their people.
                            Lovely. Happy little 'dumplings'.

We of course, as 'happy little 'vegemites', should be able to, and should do, exactly as we please in our own country....like introducing permanent travel bans and permanent segregation from countries that don't please us, and are doing something that has a detrimental effect and upsets us, and ignoring the "racist" accusations levelled at us as a result.

This morning AJ made allegations that the W.H.O. guy is from Ethiopia and that China is active in that country with investment. And that as result, well, you know.
Also that Mugabe, and China, well, you know.

I get what you're trying to say, but how do we impose our definition of wild on another country when most things sold in Australian wet markets are considered wild?

The fact you're listening to Allan Jones is not helping your cause. That farking retard sees conspiracies everywhere.

And you want segregation back? Cause that worked so well in the past didn't it.

I'll tell you what I'm going to do, ignore you forever as you are simply...fark it, what's the point.
