Chinese patients in Australia told the Hospitals here that they were being used in China, that's why the Queensland Medical research centre did some testing. The drugs are already in the market place but would need proper testing to see if it works on COVID-19.

I was referencing Prof David Paterson from the centre who was interviewed last night. He was excited. Some testing has already been done but more is needed. He lauded the cooperation of hospitals and medical staff in Australia.

That's the one, these are not new drugs and they weren't not discovered by these guys. They are copying what was done in China already which was to trial the malaria medication Chloroquine and a HIV medication which I believe is Kaletra.

Apologies if this is off topic, but how are all of you coping with this situation. Tommy Smith used the word deflated yesterday to describe his feelings. We all know sport is a small thing in the big scale of things but it still sucks to have the season more or less taken from us. Again, there are bigger issues but it is going to be a long year with no sport to entertain us. I wouldn't say I'm depressed but definitely deflated and genuinely worried.

To be honest with you Old Man Rooster, as much as it disappoints me that I may not get to see much of my belovef Roosters play this year, at the moment I am most concerned about my kids and elderly relatives. I have a son in Year 12 and this is incredibly disruptive to his Year 12 studies. He is worried his school will close down and this will affect greatly the most important year of his schooling. He's trying to get a good mark to get into Uni. I have a Mum in her mid 70's with cancer. We only just lost our Dad. My FIL is nearly 88. There is never a great time for this sort of pandemic, but for me personally now is a totally crap time for it.

As far as footy goes, what I don't want to see is a really shortened season - say 10 rounds - leading to a Premiership. It just wouldn't seem right.
