  • Cordner's Injury

Not playing round 1. Obviously injured and not rested like stated for WCC. Anyone know what the go with him is ?

I have no idea other than he'll be right for Origin I.

        That's a relief.

Wouldn't be surprised if its his left knee had seen some footage of him at the captains NRL launch and that knee looked incredibly swollen.

In grand final week last year I was told two things by a friend who is close to Uncle Nick.
            1. The GF will be Latrell’s last game in Roosters colours.
            2. Cordner was in serious doubt for the GF and there was concerns about his playing future due to a knee injury.
1/2 was right but I wonder if the second part also has truth to it.

Good judges told you on here that Cords must be injured otherwise he would not have been ‘rested’ for the WCC.

This is the maturation of Trent as a coach. He has ready and willing replacements in the backrow and can manage his captain through the year. He showed it last year and it paid dividends for this year with the possibles becoming probables
                ..it’ll be interesting to see

Just saw that Fonua-Blake and Trbojevic are back and playi for Manly after off season surgery. They could be 100% .. or 70%.. but Manly don’t have the depth or patience to test that.

Mate I'm not happy with that word maturation. It either don't exist or you are too clever to be on here. Its causing me discombobulation.

                      John Corey you’re back!
And what an avatar, it probably took you all offseason to do

I think it’s more of a case of Boyd is injured so he can’t play. I don’t think this decision has anything to do with Trent’s management skills.

                          Very insightful 13.

                          Whats his injury ?

Cords knees are something that will have to be managed for the rest of his career. He has already had stem cell therapy to regrow cartilage but the best outcome to be expected would be to minimise the spread of arthritis and delay a total knee replacement.

Boyd only knows one way and thats full boar. He runs and tackles like his life depends on it. Thats his biggest asset but it's also to his detriment. The club is going to have to hold him back on the number of games he plays......theres no alternative.

I'd much prefer the Roosters approach - manage him and his game time in order to extend his career. It's called player welfare.

Compare that to the Vermin who run their players into the ground by playing them when they're obviously unfit to play, sign them to long term deals and then claim medical retirement and relief under the salary cap.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
