    With the exception of Brisbane all other clubs make a loss so it's a case of if they can sustain substantial losses going forward since no revenue is coming in from crowds/food and beverage vendors. One would also assume there would be a decrease in merchandise sales and the possibility of further loses if clubs refund /reim membership/season ticket packages costs- some clubs may not survive if the comp is cancelled after only a few rounds.

      Yes I wanted the thread closed because I am sick to death of hearing about this crap. I do worry about the elderly and those with medical conditions that can be affectedly badly. But I believe there is no benefit in stopped elite sport.

      I think you should keep posting about the media flu though as nearly everything that is posted about it is BS and that does seem your speciality

        Bury your head in the sand and make like an ostrich mate. Media flu? haha ok. You are just a suburban pretender dickhead. Have you heard of science?

          The whole world economy is going to be stuffed for years. The virus may not be controlled until a vaccine is ready in early 2021. The NRL is only one small element our whole country and the world will be changed forever after this shit.

            My first and foremost concern will be our club, followed by the game itself, then some of the remaining clubs (there are some others that I don't particularly care for). I wouldn't be too upset if a traditional club like Norths could return, even in the form of a central coast side. Hopefully we are well off, with Easts Group and all. I don't think we are in the firing line (compared to the Warriors, Titans, Manly and Cronulla), but that could change quickly, depending on how serious and protracted this whole thing becomes. Nobody can reliably predict that yet, even all of the so called medical experts.

            Some people believe supporting the Roosters
            is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
            with that attitude. I can assure you it is
            much, much more important than that.

                PVL wants the game back by 1st July.

                Gotta admire his optimism.

                  What can we as Roosters fans do to try and make sure Souths don’t get through this pandemic?

                    Just like all of us, he wouldn’t have a clue when this will end. It’s a bit stupid of him to suggest a date. Makes him look very ignorant really.

                        Radio news just now:

                        "NRL will slash its operating costs by 53% ..............."

                        We'll there you go.

                          "Transparency is your friend" - Peter V'landys statement from an interview ( played on the radio news just now.)
                          Open books, basically honest and true management he is promising.

                            The clubs have a $5.8 million salary cap for their football departments, a figure which could be reduced to $3.5 million. Coaches have been warned their staff numbers will be decimated.

                            It can also be revealed:

                            ● In a bid to further reduce costs, clubs might have to cut their 30-man rosters to 24, 25 or 26. That would leave between 70 to 100 players out in the cold;

                            #####

                            Questions I have;

                            1. Is Trent's salary included in the football dept's salary cap [I didn't even know the football dept (football club?) had a salary cap] ?
                            2. Would reducing the 30 man roster to 24, 25, 26 affect anything much? top players having to play injured?
                            3. Would the 70-100 players then left "out in the cold" simply play reserve grade?

                            Not from this article, but are the players still supposed to be isolating at home? Cordner was shown on tv last night as looking for a job, anything, "tradie", on the end of a shovel etc.

                                That sweetheart salary cap bribe of John Grant is D.E.A.D. I wouldn't be surprised if the NRL goes back to the old days of players working during the week and training at night for weekend games. I think the last player I can remember having a job outside of League was Peter Cusack.
