Lam is not first grade standard.
Hutchison couldn't even get a regular start at the Dragons, what does that tell you. He isn't quite good enough.
Flanagan is more talented than both and certainly has a higher ceiling. That's why Robinson wanted him.
But has a young head on his shoulders and is in a new team. Give him time ffs. He is going to screw up until he gets the little things right. It was always going to be this way.

Nah just a fact that we brought Cronk on board to mentor him and he hasn’t been able to do that, would it have made him play better? Prob not to begin with but I think Cronk mentoring any halfback is super beneficial in the long run.

The problem is that we are expecting a Cronk level performance.

I wasn’t but it’s not unreasonable to expect something slightly better than nothing.

I was never ever a fan of the idea when we signed him and I’m still not but I hope in the future I am wrong.

Sad and part is, we need to win games NOW. If the season is shortened from Corona, these loses are going to cost us. The kid needs to improve yesterday but so do a few others as well.

Imagine you were Flanagan. You walk into a side that has just won consecutive premierships. Of course the opposition are going to target you. But you gotta make your tackles, pass/run to the game plan and bring the team together. All of this when you haven’t even played a full season of first grade.

Its the predictable play that annoys me but that is any NRL half these days, hardly just Kyle. We had it with Pearce for years and it wasn’t until Cronk came along that it is seems foreign.

What it does is emphasise the magic that Cooper brought to the team. Its a shame the NRL cracked down on the blue shirt this year. It was made for Cooper in retirement.

Give him time. We can’t expect to win forever.
