    To remain as injury free as possible is any teams goal each year and in my opinion we are better than

    Cronulla
    Gold Coast
    Canberra
    Parramatta
    Penrith
    South Scumbags
    North Queensland
    Manly ( I predict they will fall to pieces next year)

    So we should make the 8 and it becomes a new comp all over again.
    Call it blind loyalty or whatever but we have a chance just like the rest of them.

      Manly will make the top 4 for sure, and you can add the Warriors to that list, they should have never made the final and the run of wins was all luck and Johnson will be playing park footy towards the end of 2012 while they are coming 13th. Plus the loss of Ivan Cleary will be a huge loss.

          Sorry I don't get it. Judging by our efforts this season we are way off the pace, I would put us ahead of the Titans and Canberra and maybe Parra but that's it.

            We are 12 months from being a genuine threat. Hopefully this is their swan song season.
            I must say i am more confident we can recover in the fullback position alot quicker than no.6.
            I think in Wells and Scheck we have 2 genuine up and coming fullbacks that can take over and be nurtured into the role.
            In regards to 5/8th,i cant see anyone in our squad that can take over that spot for years to come,we are in trouble.(unless ofcourse Maloney is signed)

                  Definitely a top 4 squad. Great balance of experience, depth and youth. And we'll be under the radar again as well. I expect solid 18 point wins from most games.

                      Morts will get a crack in the trials and during Soo, I beleive Wells will play NYC for the 2012 season along with Sheck. Hopefully either Sheck or Wells can be turned into a 6, Sheck looks like he could play 6.

                        Ashamed

                        I cant believe that I even bothered to join the chookpen "fraternity"!

                        I hope that none of the players read comments from the chookpen. As a life time roosters fan I would never have guessed that a site that is dedicated the mighty club would contain such a large amount of pesimistic whingers.

                        That is decent squad. Dont under estimate the power that passion and heart can do for a footy team yet if they read the majority of your threads they would be thinking "why bother."

                        Start being positive and get behind our team!!

                          Here here coup. Sure we might not have many x factors in that squad but it is certainly a strong enthusiastic one that has shown a lot of promise. If Pearce can go to that next level with his kicking game and be more consistent with his playmaking that will improve the games of most of the other players in the squad.

                              It's an exciting squad. I too am somewhat pessimistic about our top 8 chances but never been so excited for a season to start. There's so much to like about the talent and culture at the club atm.

                              Already counting down the days to our first trial.

                                A good young squad, lots to look forward to next year especially with most of the top teams being weaker in 2012 than they were in 2011.

                                Dragons = no Bennett.
                                Manly = imploded
                                Warriors = new coach.
                                Broncos = Lockyerless.
                                Cowboys = one man band.
                                Tigers = have lost a heap of players and are renowned chockers.

                                The Storm are the only top 8 team from last year that'll begin 2012 at full strength.

                                Bring it on.

                                Chook.
