How many games is MAubs on now after 2 games this season? Is there a chance he could miss the record this year?

I believe he's on 293 games. And frankly it'd be really disappointing if he misses the opportunity to bring up 300 games.

That being said there's no reason why he can't go around again next year - and the same applies to the Morris brothers - because although they'll be a year older, they aren't adding any mileage to the body.

Any retirees will most likely play again next season I reckon. They will be nice and fresh after the long break.

I remember seeing Papworth in a pre season trial in 1988.....absolutely freakish- haven't seen any player who could side step off both feet at lightning speed like him. He was something special....but now is just remembered for his run of bad luck with injuries

Pappy had unbelievable footwork as did another Rugby convert for the roosters Kenny Wright though neither were really suited to league.
A common complaint of players as they get older is doing the pre seasons rather than the actual playing.
I wonder if this season is axed if a lot of the older blokes give it away rather than go through a gruelling off season without playing much this year.
