The goods are clearly damaged based on that information presented. Our side is farked from 1 through to 17 at the moment, no one can put in any consistency. Pearce isn't to be blamed for the loss, but that truly was one of those moments you cannot help but laugh at and say wtf were you thinking.

I've been saying it for years, Anasta and Pearce are not gamebreakers, they're too similar in the way they play, we've needed variation there for as long as I can remember, but this year our inept forward pack and pathetic backline have given them nothing to work with. Pearce is still way overrated IMO though.

Both lack composure at the business end of a match.. Pearce can use youth as some sort of excuse, Braith can't.. I hope to God we have signed Todd Carney for next season as he has that x factor we lack in the halves.. They just don't have that ability to pull something out of nothing.. That said, I also don't believe Anasta has the workrate we would need at Lock. Mitch Aubusson would be the ideal Lock but is stuck playing in the Centres due to poor recruitment and retention.

Where did I blame Pearce? I said the guys around him aren't doing their job. That still doesn't mean I can't hold the opinion that he's always been overrated. I don't blame Pearce for our position on the ladder, I blame poor management, recruitment and the experienced guys not doing their job. Pearce's performance is just a culmination of many factors, but he's never been the "go to" guy to win games, I don't know why people expect it now.

I have seen many 1/2s come and go, and he hasn't looked like the world beater that everyone claims him to be. I am not saying he's crap either. He has plenty going for him, but is not innovative enough to take a game by the scruff of the neck and put his stamp on it.

The Langers, Mortimners and Johns of the world had shown signs early in their career. Pearce has had 2 years at the top level and is yet to show it. For the sake of our team's long term fortune, I hope I am proven wrong, sooner rather than later.

Melon reckons he can see the future in Pearce, and I stake my 34 years involvement with the game ( at many levels) against his talent spotting.

Andrew Johns was seen as the lesser talent of the Johns brothers until he was about 24.

I don't think so. In Johns debut at 19 he killed Souths single handedly with 2 tries and 7 goals. I never thought of Matthew as that good but Joey was something special, you could see that straight away.
