As for signing a player for 2013 now.....well that's just ridiculous. So much can heppen between now and then. If I were the Warriors Id be getting rid of him now as surely his heart wont be in it

Anasta said signing Maloney was a smart move by the Roosters following his breakthrough year for the Warriors this season.
"It's a great signing for the club," Anasta said.
"He'll be a huge asset for the team in 2013. Obviously he and Pearcey have a lot of potential together.
"It's no issue for me at all at the end of the day. As long as I'm with the Roosters."
The bolded bit is what concerns me....

great signing in my opinion. he will take alot of pressure off pearce and be able to contribute in attack a hell of alot more then anasta, which wont throw all the burden on pearces shoulders. And he can control a team really well and has no problems playing off the cuff football which brain smith is a big fan of playing. He was the biggest reason why the warriors had such a good year this year and i cant wait for him to pull on the red white and blue..... WELCOME IN 2013 MALONEY.... But first lets have a good 2012 and not start worrying too much bout 2013

It's funny seeing people questioning Maloney, yet creaming themselves over Johnson.
Maloney is a proven performer - he has shined in that warriors squad CONSISTANTLY for 2 seasons now.
He has a great running game, decent speed, good kicking game, good defence for someone his size and does not take a backward step - tough as nails.
While Johnson has had quite a purple patch of form but i'd say Maloney was more crucial in the Warriors success this year.
Johnson commands big bucks yet is not exactly a proven player.
Maloney plied his trade under Bellamy, worked his way up through the grades, took his chance when it was presented and never looked back.
Thank god the club bought someone with a proven record, rather than just hype.Last edited by BigMike; 11-28-2011, 03:01 PM.

Edit - Quoted from the Telegraph today..The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.
