As for signing a player for 2013 now.....well that's just ridiculous. So much can heppen between now and then. If I were the Warriors Id be getting rid of him now as surely his heart wont be in it
      Lets hope they do

I predict, like Desiderata with the Seagles, that Maloney won't see out 2012 with the Warriors.

If Leuluai was coming to the Warriors in 2012 I would agree but he's not so I can't see them getting rid of Maloney unless someone like Carlos Tuimivave starts killing them.

Good solid signing. Lets just hope he can reproduce what he did in 2011 next year - not against us of course!. It does seem a little worrying though signing a player so far in advance of completing their current contract.
And a big time sucked in to Souffs!!

yeah i agree, cause maloney will play with pearce in the halves. friend is defs no.9 and mitchell a halback. so where will that leave mortimer???

Anasta said signing Maloney was a smart move by the Roosters following his breakthrough year for the Warriors this season.

"It's a great signing for the club," Anasta said.

"He'll be a huge asset for the team in 2013. Obviously he and Pearcey have a lot of potential together.

"It's no issue for me at all at the end of the day. As long as I'm with the Roosters."

The bolded bit is what concerns me....

I am happy with this signing.

He has a good running game and kicking game. The opposite of anasta.

I dont think he has a good passing game but neither did anasta.

Lets hope that happens, that would be the best thing, and we get him for 2012. cause it will suck going thru the whole of next year knowing that hell be there the year after, he is a great player, just hope hell be here in 2012

great signing in my opinion. he will take alot of pressure off pearce and be able to contribute in attack a hell of alot more then anasta, which wont throw all the burden on pearces shoulders. And he can control a team really well and has no problems playing off the cuff football which brain smith is a big fan of playing. He was the biggest reason why the warriors had such a good year this year and i cant wait for him to pull on the red white and blue..... WELCOME IN 2013 MALONEY.... But first lets have a good 2012 and not start worrying too much bout 2013

It's funny seeing people questioning Maloney, yet creaming themselves over Johnson.

Maloney is a proven performer - he has shined in that warriors squad CONSISTANTLY for 2 seasons now.

He has a great running game, decent speed, good kicking game, good defence for someone his size and does not take a backward step - tough as nails.

While Johnson has had quite a purple patch of form but i'd say Maloney was more crucial in the Warriors success this year.

Johnson commands big bucks yet is not exactly a proven player.

Maloney plied his trade under Bellamy, worked his way up through the grades, took his chance when it was presented and never looked back.

Thank god the club bought someone with a proven record, rather than just hype.

In the telegraph story on Maloney it says that Anasta is off contract at the end of 2012 which creates a bit of confusion as i too thought it was until end of 2013. Odds would say that it is yet another mistake by telegraph! Surely though if Anasta is signed until 2013 he would have to cop a hint and f*** off a year earlier after we have signed Maloney unless he expects Maloney to play fullback
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                                Here's looking at you, kid.
