I am happy with this signing.

He has a good running game and kicking game. The opposite of anasta.

I dont think he has a good passing game but neither did anasta.

The opposite of our current halfback as well, which is a very good thing

Well we're not short of options in the halves now. I hope the competition pushes all 4 of them, because at their best I believe ANY of them can make the starting side.

So Maloney's just had a good season... so what? Mortimer did in 2009 and look where he is. I reckon both will have to dig deep and find that form that got them to a GF if they want to make the team.

The down side? Despite our depth in the forwards, Anasta will surely be playing in the forwards. I'd prefer some big islander doing the heavy lifting, but I guess a ball playing forward is good. Him, another ball playing forward and 2 quality halves... hopefully not too many cooks in the kitchen arguing over which dish to serve up.

Hopefully Maloney and Pearce get some game time with each other in State of Origin for NSW they will most probably be the halves for 2012 SOO which is a good thing for us. Good signing surely can be better then Braith.

If Leuluai was coming to the Warriors in 2012 I would agree but he's not so I can't see them getting rid of Maloney unless someone like Carlos Tuimivave starts killing them.

Even if the Warriors were to cut Maloney during the 2012 season ( which I don't see happening ) Where would we get the money to play him under our salary cap And does anyone here believe that Anasta would fall on his sword to facilitate a seamless and early introduction of Malony into our five eighth position.

I note that Rupert Murdoch's local propaganda outlet has two stories highlighting the injustice and evil associated with this signing. One describes the signing as "ridiculous". The other suggests the need for a draft system to overcome this dreadful state of affairs.

If Anasta is signed until end of 2013 then we should offer Warriors a 2-for-1 deal. Give them Anasta for two years if they let Maloney start with us next year...

Love the sound of that! I doubt Anasta would go for it though, he wouldn't want to move to NZ as it would interfere with his 2 main priorities, golf and commentating for fox sports.
