      • Okay so WTF is it?
Is he coming here next season, 2013 or not at all?
Because if it is the latter, I am going to stay at home, rent depressing DVD's and eat ice-cream from the tub for the next few months.

                      • Five-eighth James Maloney has confirmed he will stay at the Warriors for the remaining one year left on his contract with the Auckland club.

The confirmation comes after reports in the Australian press linked the Warriors playmaker to an early release after signing with the Sydney Roosters at the end of next year.

Maloney said the rumours were just that.

"One hundred percent I'm here this year.

"I don't know where it's come from. I'm happy here and I'm happy to be here with the boys for another year so that's squashed there."

Discussing his Roosters contract, Maloney said he was relieved to have his long-term future in the game sorted beyond 2012.

"Hopefully it won't affect the footy - that was the whole idea of getting it done early so I can knuckle down and have a good year."

The year looks set to be a good already if league legend Andrew Johns' input into the halves is anything to go by.

"Obviously his knowledge for the game is A1, isn't it."

"I don't think anyone doubts that and what he's done in the game. Even for the young fellas it's a buzz having him around, and we're definitely picking up a lot of things."

"It's great to have him working with us and it's obviously going to make a big difference this year."

Having young star Shaun Johnson paired with in the halves from the pre-season rather than late in the season would also make a big difference, said Maloney.

"To have a full pre-season under our belt and get organised and know what we're doing - he only came in late last year so we didn't have that time - to have that full pre-season and get things working out hopefully it'll be a big year."

Oh well, the depressing thing is we are stuck with Anasta at 5/8th for another year, yyuuukkkk!!!

                        • I call bullshit. No player who signs a contract for the year after next stays with his old club.

                          • I agree with John.
Making all the right nosies, contractually.....BUT
If his form drops, the club has problems within or the teams form is ordinary...blah blah blah.....get ready for an early start to his "new" contract.

                            • I'm actually glad. Happy to see one year where Anasta is wasting a spot in the backrow stopping quality youngsters that offer more from having a go. Braith in the halves puts alot of pressure on Pearce to be the creator in the team but I think he's up to it and he'll be supported by a full forward pack, not 5 blokes trying their guts out and one pretender.

Anasta's form at 6 in the last four weeks was quite competent and he threw far less errant passes in these games so if he can do a little better next season and is used to kick less I think we can be a top 6 side. A bit of luck with injury to key players and I think we have a team that can win tight games but still have the strikepower out wide to score points, especially if Moga excels in first grade.

                              • Watching him against the Titans tonight has got me a little excited. Fast, skillful, kick goals... Just what we need.

The Titans are awful and Prince looks like his time has come.
