But I like his Machiavellian ways. Put the heat on 3 state premiers. Wrest back control of the footy from Ch 9 and Fox back to the NRL. A committee of one gets things done. Cannot imagine one prior NRL CEO doing what he's done except maybe Arko & Quayle.

But FMD, he has to do something about Latrell and Ado-Carr.

If he wants public (and Gov't ) support for the 28th May restart to go from 50% to 90% he has to suspend these two selfish diickheads for this season. Or at least 12 weeks.

I like Vlandys also...but he wont touch this. Imagine the uproar if these two get crucified for needing to go back and be connected with their land & people blah blah blah. It doesnt matter the danger they are putting everyone in, including their own families, there are forces much stronger than that which will ensure thisnis swept under the carpet

Should get two weeks, starting from May 28. Have to go into quarantine for 14 days and not allowed to start training with the squad until that time elapses, and then make them miss the first two games as well. 12 weeks is harsh!

Totally selfish behaviour. I’m not so concerned re the corona isolation angle; More how they have put the NRL, their fellow players and related staff’s salaries at risk for their own enjoyment, then advertised this to the World.
FFS Addo and LM both are Australian rep players; not 18 year olds. Says so much about their Me-First attitude

My now-departed top detective guy friend from another era had a different approach.
He used to sweet talk people around.
Sit them down, give them a cup of tea, have a friendly and quiet chat.
They would usually come around to his way of thinking.

9 and fox are funding a large part of the game.
Best not to go trying to tell them anything.
Best to negotiate in a friendly and quiet manner.
Treat those negoiating on behalf of their organisations with respect.

Agree...the 'crime' is putting their colleagues livelihood in jeopardy, notsomuch a health issue.

PVLs posturing is designed to say to the networks, our product is here and we are ready to go pending government support....
The reason being I believe is so they can use the Force Majour clause in their contract if nine or fox try to withhold money if they don’t end up on the field.
Every interview I’ve heard with him he has shown a willingness to work with the broadcasters because he knows they are also bleeding... but he is also making sure the NRL has its ducks in a line in case there are legal proceedings!

Yep, JAC has already come out and said it was all about getting back to culture.....I just didn't realise Indigenous Culture was about guns and motor bikes!

Same as they are allowed to hunt dugongs etc as it is what their ancestors did....but they do it while riding in a 4m Aluminium Quintrex with a 25hp motor on the back, go figure.

I think they should get tested for corona & hopefully come back clear & fine them the same as any other person would be fined.

Wouldn't be surprised if he put feelers out for Ch 7 and 10.

Vlandys knows this is a symbiotic relationship. Whereas past NRL leaders have gone with cap in hand like Oliver Twist with his empty bowl of soup, only to be greeted by the Soup Nazi.

Mickie, I've thought favorably of Latrell even after him going to Souffs and all that shenanigans. I still entertained hope of getting him back after a couple of years, because I was still gutted by his move.

But he's given a huge 'up yours' to his coach, teammates, the other 400 players in the NRL, not to mention the thousands of others whose livelihood depend on NRL as well as the hundreds of thousands (millions even) of fans who want to see the footy return.

He is an immature, selfish and recalcitrant pratt.

It's a hard one , plenty of average people have been fined ,a heap at a 8th birthday party , but this is different, these blokes have put a huge amount of people's lively hoods in danger , if they test positive or not isn't really the issue , it's that they have so little care and consideration for the league and there families that is at stake , I wouldn't care if he was still here they deserve more punishment than a 1k fine
