Ironically, buddy what's motivated you to respond is what motivates me too - opinions on here that you don't much like although I do try to reason rather than rant. Do have a more perceptive comment up the sleeve?

If you are reading this PaddoColt61 , BB has started a political specific thread in the Off Topic section. Knock yourself out.#We Stand with ourJewish community#

You'll find the Right Wing political bully everywhere though the most common habitat is among those who have "done well" usually from inheritance which is the biggest source of individual wealth in Oz. The most annoying, however, are those working class blokes with the arse out or not a whole lot better who stick fats with the wealthy through sturm und strang and there is plenty of 'em - they made up the ranks of the racist SS. It doesn't seem to matter that the wealthy and their political reps have never done anything for them (can anyone post a list of Tory benefits to the general public apart from the guns which are on the way back). They've been got to way back, probably through mum and dad or religion - Communism bad (for whom?), fossil fuel good, climate change bullshit, Unions terrible - and these gooses haven't really got a dog in the fight but they spread that shit in forums like this one. See, I said all that without mentioning your name Jax.
Inheritance? Someone in the family worked hard to accumulate the assets. Eastern Suburbs families, for example.
Communism is bad, for anyone who's a social capitalist wanting to leave assets in a will to their children/family.
Anzacs fought for our freedom. Freedom is not communism.
Some Diggers were wealthy, prove there weren't any.
Fossil fuel is good, for the time being...keeps the lights on, aircon running, trucks and cars running...and is affordable.
Climate change? The climate is always changing. Ice Ages come and go. Glaciers started melting 15,000 years ago, Once upon a time you could walk from Oz to India, until the land bridge was covered by water. Uluru was once at the bottom of a sea. I can't see any 'emergency'.
Unions? Refer the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption.
Rich people employ poor people, Every been employed by a poor man?
There is an opposing view of the world to that of the Left/Far Left[Karl Marx/Marxism.
Social Capitalism...capitalism with a social conscience. The best system.Last edited by bondi.boy; 05-06-2020, 07:16 PM.

Gladys is not building the new one herself. She has hired a very competent construction company.
The new one won't be what I'd like, but it will be just fine, you wait and see. I would like one fully enclosed and with a sliding roof. So when another rain, hail, snow, lightning, thunder storm arrives like on that Anzac day, I and everyone else in the stadium won't get 'drowned'.
The cost for that was prohibitive.

no doubt jfc has his political slant on things and what he wrote was never going to go against that.
Anzac day is always an emotional day for me and I don't worry about some of the humbug rhetoric that is inevitably associated with it. e.g. apart from the heroes of the Kokoda, I don't really think they fought for the freedoms I enjoy today. but I do want to acknowledge their contribution and sacrifice, even those who enlisted more out a mis-placed sense of adventure than anything especially patriotic. that they suffered is enough.

Be assured there was never a skerrick of political commentary or intent in my thread starter... Just a "Thanks and we will never forget".#We Stand with ourJewish community#

There's a lot of pot and kettle stuff going on in your comments Jax and I don't see your Anzac motives as being as pure as you might like to think. They fit a pattern - a Murdoch pattern along with the "I hate Greta" and the implied ridicule of any progressive stuff. As far as I could see, no one ever took issue with any of that low level reinforcement of reactionary opinion that remains a feature of your contributions. The extreme Right want ordinary people, to accept things which are actually controversial as givens and Anzac has been ramped up to to the point where any position that does not support the sentimental overkill is regarded as heresy - remember the SBS sport commentator whom Turnbull had sacked and the muslim girl whom Murdoch hounded out of the country for having the temerity to not want to forget the refugees and the Palestinians.
I think the Off Topic idea is a good 'un and I trust that you will restrict the dog whistle to that section of the forum as well. Name calling has always been a staple of "conservative" comment but as a fellow Rooster tragic I bear you no animus, I don't play the man. Hope to see you at Off Topic.

We seem to agree with me certain things such as the Economic policies of Norse countries being better for a society... Left leaning countries.. (remember economic policies not immigration)
I see Labor or centre left policies more in line with the Social Capitalism of these countries?
But you are such a conservative or at least lead the conservative cheer squad?
What am I missing here?
Wouldn't it be great at elections if we could vote on issues individually rather than one party where you might love one policy but hate others but that one policy is important to you.
Each party has a list of core promises and values...you vote on each one... who ever gets the most tallied votes leads parliament but must implement the policies with the most votes.
I know a lot of people want say strong borders but don't want Industrial Relations reforms ... or want low corporate tax rates but are compassionate to refugees and want stronger action on climate change. (these are just examples of how a voter might be torn... the last is why we got Zali Steggles who is essentially useless other than sending a strong message to the Liberal party from Liberal voters)
