Its a condition to jab by the health dept of NSW & QLD. The NRL accepted that and so did the RLPA. The NRL could not enforce that the players get the shot but the Govt conditions are enforced or no comp.

Because they don’t work for health.

i don’t get the shot, but if work told me that I had to, then I would, no issue, that doesn’t mean I agree with it being compulsory though.

What I don’t understand is, if only those few players don’t get the jab, but everyone else in the game does, doesn’t that mean that only those few players are at more risk at getting the flu? It shouldn’t concern anyone else since they are all protected.

The reason is to prevent people getting the flu , having to get a coronavirus test and shutting down the NRL as a preventative until the results come back because they all trained together the day before

these idiots are truly idiots. They are complaing its about choice but they have a choice.
They don't get it they don't play its their choice.

Same as you don't work you don't get paid, but you have a choice

do they realise that the game itself will not survive unless they take 60-80% wage cuts

              What are they injecting....pine o cleen ?

Hasn't been an issue in past years.
Apparently if you get the flu and covid19 at the same time it's extremely deadly . Anyone not getting a flu vaccination is playing Russian roulette . No jab no play .. fair enough

Dylan Walker says it’s his right to choose to not have the flu vaccine. Did he give Alex Ivkovic a choice when he bashed her?

Gladys and Co are gonna look like weaklings if they don''t now enforce their own Covid health rules they insisted upon the NRL agreeing to.
Especially when only yesterday they were talking tough.
                  Gladys: "We will not tolerate........"

"Rights and liberties" Walker cries out.
Lovely. I have a large Eureka flag to wave at the march of rebellion.

For the greater good, I still can't leave my home in a sealed car and drive to a hill and sit in the sealed car and look at the ocean... without Gladys' enforcers arriving to make me pay $1000.
I can drive away on a camping holiday though.
I can go to the shops and wander around though.

Walker does have the right to choose not to get the fluvax.
His employer, by govt decree, has the right to choose not to employ him if he doesn't.
Mrs bb used to work at a major govt Sydney hospital in a clerical job.
"No flu vax, no job" it surely was.
Ditto it was in a large multinational co's offices where she was employed in recent years.

Also, in said multinational co, ...all staff, in all divisions, in all states, had to produce photo ID, birth certificates, passports, marriage certificates, visas, etc to prove who they were, and prove they had the right to work in Australia...or no longer be empoyed by the co, after an illegal immigrant was discovered to be working for the company.

                  Employers have rights too.

If I were running the NRL show I'd be including a vaccination clause in the new player contracts.

The NRL guaranteed / promised state govts and the federal govt certain things when it applied for permission to restart training and playing.
To now want to back out of those guarantees/promises, it could look to many people as if its word is not its bond.
Not a good look for the "New NRL".

That is the simple waya of putting it and it will be the way it works. What concerns me is this type of thing will filter into main stream society. They are taking away peoples free will these players no longer have a choice of not having to have a shot and play the game they love. This is bigger than footy

What would happen if our top 5 players didn't have the jab and the NRL said all good , then what happens if one player gets the flu and we loose our top 5 players as a result , for me make it mandatory every year not just now , Some are paid huge amounts to play footy , not to sit on the sidelines because of a preventable disease

players should shut the fark up and take the shot, your well paid...don't want the shot ? fine go drive a forklift and see if your trophy wife hangs around when the pay dries up ? the trophy wife who didn't finish high school , yet gives out medical / vaccine advice on highly contagious , fatal diseases , and denounces the advice of people who study and do this for a living. absolute stupidity. measles, small pox, polio, these farkwits should be named and shamed , then shot dead , then sterilized so their idiotic corpses cannot breed.

So the NRL makes everyone get the flu shot, which in itself for some can give you flu like sympoms. Um now what ? It won't stop kung flu so does a player or players with a runny nose from the flu shot stay home or come in to training? Iv never had it, not saying I will never get it but it's a choice for the individual and should stay that way. If the flu shot is the answer give it to everyone and we can all get back to life as normal.

The flu itself kills many people in Australia every year.

"Her grieving husband pleaded with people to get vaccinated.

'I've got 3 kids without a mum because of a flu ', he said.
                            'This stuff kills'."

they are not taking away anyone's free will. People still have choices always will in a society like ours. The problem is the dumbasses that think that decisions and choice are not related to consequences.
People just can't do what ever they want, unfortunately thats what these people want. The modern day issue is how much time these morons get though social and man stream media
