haven’t seen the chooks be that relentless against an average team for a long time - scary to think it looks like they are ready to take it to another level. Great to see the team still has hunger - this team has the chance to go down as modern legends up there with the best of all time if they aren’t already
Thats a good point mate. We usually ease off at some point when things are under control....certainly not tonight right up to the final minutes trying hard to keep the Nil against.

    • During the Broadcast the commentator was saying the Chooks biggest half time lead was 41-0 v Canterbury in 1935- I recall being at a Roosters v Souths game in 1996 (Either it was an Easter or Anzac day game) and Chooks led 42-0 at Half time before going onto win 62-0. Salvo was playing for Souths- Fittlers first season and Gus's first full season as coach. Anyone else recall this??

Thanks mate! Yeah I feel we usually only play our best football against the best and lower our standards against average teams and often struggle. The score but keeping them to nil is huge - we’ve done this against other hopeless teams in recent years but it’s attitude tonight - clinical, relentless and with minimal error. And with a key player out late - that would also usually put the roosters out of sorts a bit but it didn’t phase them. Just another level of team cohesion and adaptability. I think we could play even better then that against a competitive opposition.

i think the covid break has done the team wonders - enjoy your weekend chook fans

        • And to think some people were worried about a tough start to the relaunch vs Souffs and Brisbane loloolollll 87-12 combined.

We have sent a message to the competition.

Privileged indeed to follow this footy team under Robbo.

          • And can I just say good work by Mr Atkins the referee?

Didnt ref for sympathy calls and keeping the game close. Just called what he seen letting the game flow.

Hope not to jinx it but we seem to be doing very well compared to other teams regarding giving away 6 again ruck penalties

How much better is it when there's only one lunatic trying to control the asylum!

                • Bmoz looks like very solid backup for Teddy at fullback

i don’t think we could have put of that effort and execution with latrell going to fullback (if he was still here) and looks much more comfortable than manu at fullback

hall looks like a good fill in at wing too if needed - played like an extra forward with good post contact metres

                  • With a fully fit team will be hard to drop someone but it’s a good headache to have

Manu's looked good at FB too when's he's filled in. Good that they playing both sides instead of mainly left- Flanno can work with Radley/Manu/BMorris on right side with Teddy joining in on both sides or through the middle. adds more to the attack especially with the new rule of 6 again.

Nothing wrong with resting a few blokes again this year. No origin but with the speed of the game going into the finals series with a fresh squad will be crucial.

i can't remember the half time scoreline but do remember the game. we thrashed em. salvo almost scored for them in the second half and a lot of us could have accepted it if he did.
