I get their anger... African Americans were taken over as slaves and indigenous Australians had everything taken away (which was illegal under international law at the time) and this was all in the name of building western prosperity.

However, I dunno if breaching commonsense COVID-19 rules and breaking shyte is how you fix it.

Context is all. I mean saying 'fark off what a stupid message... all lives matter' while waving a confederate flag around is some pretty fukked up hate speech. Whereas, saying 'hang on... think of COVID-19 guys... ALL lives matter and I don't want a second hit because of unapproved, reckless mass gatherings' is another argument (that nobody will get in trouble for making).

I don't think we can ever fix it , until both side find a way to put it in the past and move forward as on race , the human race then this is ongoing , pulling down statues to erase the past is like forgetting what the Nazis did in WW2 , we must remember the past so we don't do it again in the future , looting and burning , doesn't give people a reason to be on your side , it's just a continuation of the crap from the past , If covid didn't bring the world together , protesting and rioting never will , very sad world

At the start of the Souths v Titans game today, I noticed all the players in a circle, arms around each other.
I said "what's with all the hugging"? Noticing at the same time that the players were all kneeling like at the All Stars games.
Mrs bb said; "that's for the rally" or something like that. She also said "they're all doing it", meaning all the teams are doing it.
Will the Roosters and Dogs teams be doing it tomorrow? Is it an NRL directive? What is it for exactly?

One guy who had such a placard in the BLM protest in Sydney was taken away by the police.
Jessica Mulroney, Meghan Markle's best friend has been sacked from her job as a tv presenter for a Canadian network after having a row about white privilege with a black social media influencer.
Also be ready to apologise for being white.

The hard-left squad is out for blood and they are overwhelmingly represented in high echelons of places that decide what we watch, read and should think.

They have taken over the whole thing. The problem is they are in a huge minority but seem to have a huge voice. I blame the media for that, they are scared of the screaming lunatic left because they make so much noise. I respect that someone has different politics to me as long as they respect the same. These people are not just people with a different political view, they are incapable of understanding that others think differently. This also stems out of the "participation certificate brigade" a bit.

I have many friends, indigenous, muslim, Jewish all sorts, I also do a little bit of work with indigenous RL but that means bugger all, What is important is that my parents taught me to treat everyone as you would want them to treat you.
I sit here and see people screaming at police, posting black squares on FB cutting their hair off. It makes bugger all difference. Its pretence and fake

Just ****ing be nice to each other/ Welll except on RL forums

i get that people shouldn't protest at the time of a pandemic and that violence when you're protesting is counter-productive but what's the problem with being v racism? it doesn't matter but i don't understand some of the angst sorry. none of us want to go to a black lives don't matter rally.

Well said. You blame the media which is part of the problem. I blame the internet and social media as well. Social media has ruined the world. It has created more negativity than positivity and is responsible for more deaths than any agency of law enforcement.

                        Yeah well said mate.

Theres another horrible feature of modern society thats been exposed by these events. Its the lack of respect for authority and leaders.

Defacing statues, using social media to dishonour sacred days, abusing and assaulting police and front line workers. This is the real issue. No excuses, but what is in the minds and hearts of these people?

I hate the whole notion of protesting/protesters but if there was a counter groundswell for bettter civility and respect for those in authority, I would support this without hesitation.

100% JFC. Respect starts at home and unfortunately what we are seeing today is a reflection of home life. It then flows through the education systems and on to what we see now which is a generation of people who have never heard the word NO thrown at them. It’s encouaged self entitlement which has developed from it a lack of respect for anyone who disagrees with them.

My my biggest fear out of all this is that we will have a law enforcement system fearful of enforcing the law and from that no one can truely be safe. Forget race, crack some hippies and put the fear back into the people. IMO that fear should bring back the respect.

The next thing to address is making sure that the punishment fits the crime. Our courts and legal systems are far too soft which also encouages no fear for the law.

The laziness of the modern day media that relies on social media is porr stuff too. Its sad that something so good (catching up with old friends, making new ones etc etc) can be turned into a vile vehicle

In the States I truly believe a lot of the mass hysteria is being generated by a shitload of pissed off Democrats , still in denial that they lost the last presidential election. But what would I know

Did latrell not looking into the camera while being interviewed for over 2min today after the match have anything to do with the protest, or was there just a piece of KFC on the grass that kept distracting him?
