The beat us in a final in 83
if king Eddie M salvo is counting from when the Winfield cup expanded with the Steelers and raiders, we haven't beat the dragons since then in a finals series.

Technically it wasn't a final. It was a play-off to make the finals

Laurie Freier days - players gave up listening to him and wanted him gonski why the later part of the seasons they didn't try that hard- Tom Arber was sent off in that game I recall- was that the year chooks were playing Balmain at the SCG and the lights went out?? - PC incorrect nowadays of course we were yelling out play on and give the ball to Fergo (John Ferguson)- maybe 84?

I was in Year 10 at school. I can remember the Roosters were quoted as a 10-1 chance to make the 5 that year and one of our class mates who's dad was a bookie said he would let us on at that price. I had the grand sum of $2 on us and my mate decided to pay out with about 4 rounds to go and the Roosters sitting 6 points clear of the 6th placed team and 8 points clear of 7th (St George). We then proceeded to lose our last 4 games and the play off meaning I had to repay my mate the $20 plus pay him the $2 for the original bet.

I'm sure we near the dogs in 2003 semis to meet Panthers in gf.
I think it's parramatta... But not sure!!

mmm - give the answers nest week - question 1 could be two answers - depending on your side of the fence on whether a merged club is new or a combo of 2 clubs results re finals in this case

                          1. Parramatta and St.George/Illawarra
                          2. Easts. It can't be Brisbane as they've never played Souths in a final

Some great victories against the Dogs, 1974 Grand Final, 2003 Qualifying Final, 2015 Semi Final. Definitely Parra and Saints/Illawarra Socks.

Have we beaten some version of St George dragons in a final? Yes1975 GF, our most famous victory.

Have we ever beaten Parra in a final? No

So the answer is Parra. End of story move on.

Congrats you are the winner- only have beaten Parramatta in a pre - season final series - Pre-Season Cup final (1981) - I think it was called Craven Mild Cup - Peter Peters made the statement if Parramatta won the comp with Bob O'Reilly and Kevin Stumpy Stevens as props he would walk from Wollongong to Palm Beach in Thongs -

Chooks beat Parra another time in the Amco Cup final in 1975 - Fairfax broke his leg that game and sadly was never the same player again.

The debate about whether victories against the Dragons when St George count vs the St George-Illawarra will go on - as long as they get another premiership victory over them tonight is all that matters now - be hard game I would say as we are below strength attack wise
