this team is far braver then I. the last 20 of the first half, my head dropped, long story short, I split with the missus 3 weeks ago, a bit heartbroken, work kept me busy , and this team gave me joy. tonight I lost hope, for 20 mins , but I regained it, the team means so much to me. ps I know other woman come along but yea it's still fresh.

Yeah I know what you mean Matty. Different circumstances to yours, but watching this awesome team and club every week is a highlight and delight for me in an otherwise sad and depressing time for me at present. I hope things get better for you and I hope Victor and Sam have speedy recoveries. We are so lucky to have the best team in the world to support and bring us joy each week. I was at the game last night - scored a ticket in the ballot. We were out of sorts in the first half and made some uncharacteristic mistakes, but the referee was clearly not adhering to the same interpretation of the rules as earlier rounds. Mary's boys were free to slow down the ruck unpunished and to stand 3 to 4 metres offside. They stuck to a safety first game plan and it worked for them in the first half.

Sam and Victor were hobbling around near where I was sitting and they remained cheerful. So should we.

I cracked a rib when running into Shannon the Cannon in January 2007. It was still sore in October that year.

Joey Manu had just returned a kick and played the ball when we did a quick shift and Toops set Bmoz free. Unfortunately when they went back and checked, Bmoz had not got back behind the play the ball and nobody was able to then run him back onside.

No wonder Cords & Friend are captains. Friend got battered in last weeks game but was still one of the best on ground & last night Cords got battered & was close to best on ground. If any of us sustained a nasty head gash like he did you would be rushed to hospital to be stitched up commenced on pain relief & monitored for 24 hours but ol matey Cords was vassoed up & bandaged up & back into the battle. What a pair of tough bastards those 2 are & its all for the red white & blue jumper.

Robbo could ring me this week to bring me in for the Melbourne clash to fill that vacant bench spot but I think he will put Flanno back to the bench & I will start.
