Although it is very saddening to see what happened tonight with victor and sam it is abit drastic to completely write us off after those 2 injuries. Victor is one of our most important players in attack for us with his ability to ballplay but I think butcher or Angus can cover that role. Sam wouldn’t be in our 17 most weeks if Jake is healthy or he would be playing limited minutes so it’s a big loss no doubt but especially if we lose friend through injury but isn’t as major as it is being played out.. with teddy and j moz to come back it will be a test but we can still pull it off.

IMO we can overcome any injury and still win the premiership as we did with Cronk in 2018, and Friend in 2019. The only exception was Keary. But with Verrills injured I will now add Friend to that list. If Friend or Keary go down it is game over.

Freddy Lussick is close to where Verrills was at this stage of the year. He didn’t debut last year until the Melbourne game and then by season’s end was an integral part of the team. Lussick was impressive in the nines and looks good during his time on in the Newcastle trial. Obviously Verrills’ learning was accelerated from playing big minutes but it will be interesting to see if Robbo bloods Lussick and plays him off the bench in a few games to see if he’s up to standard. Big fan of his attitude on the field and he has a very nice pass off the deck much like Verrills. Just small and would need to really prove himself defensively.

There is no doubt it has been an injury horror show. The loss of Rads will hurt us big time, but this team has been able to overcome the loss of a key player and still be very competitive for the title in the past and I am sure they will this year. I reckon we may see a more win ugly approach for the next two months as we restructure after losing Rads as he has been linking each side of the field and giving us some great ruck speed. As i said it is a huge loss. But it is also a time for Butcher, Tupounia and Collins to take the next step. The other thing is that I think Lachlan Lam will get his chance to come into the 17 and play the back up dummy half. He is more advanced than Freddy Lussick who is not ready. Sam and Rads will come back next year and Iceman in a few rounds. We are still in it, its just a lot harder. If the boys channel the character they showed last night they will go very close. Lastly JWH and TKO are the best front row combination in the game bar none for me.

I agree. It has become harder, without a doubt, but it is not insurmountable. As others have said, Jake and Luke are now the keys. If either of them are impacted, then it could become a bridge too far but, until then, we are still in it up to our necks.MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
