I don’t believe anyone complained when we signed Teddy. A blind man could see how good he was going to be.

Nick has said publicly that he would never deal with that manager. We only dealt with him for Teddy because Mini got in the middle. Then Teddy dumped the manager. Nick made a big statement and was the only one with the balls to do it at the time. Now the manager is deregistered some in the media are having a go. They didn't say a peep before. There is no way that player comes here. He is the walking embodiment of why Nick doesn't deal with that manager.

Seems Bateman is Latrell Mark II. Disloyal, greedy and ego driven. I think with the way Latrell was handled, we won’t be in the market for this little man. Robbo often goes on about good players and just importantly good people. The little man should piss off back to England.

Yes they did, plenty said he had bad knees, so what about him doing the dirty on Canberra ? Two sets of standards here. No one seems to answer about us taking SBW, who did plenty worse than Bateman has. I guess facts don't play much of a roll here. All outraged about Bateman, when he has done nothing wrong, Canberra gave him the deal, which had an annual option in his favour, he was a great player for them last year. he got injured, shyte happens, not his fault. Ricky trying to play the martyr, that's a huge joke, he was always available to the highest bidder. I couldn't give a flying fark about whether or not Bateman comes here, I made the suggestion because he could fill a hole for us for the rest of the year, Canberra have stated that he has played his last game for them.....so it makes sense, and yes I would take him long term and I believe he is the best UTILITY player available, he can play all the positions Aubs plays, and yes I believe he would take LESS to play with US. Bulldogs have offered him $780K per season for 3 years, I believe he would sign with us for $700K , he would be crazy not to, which is fair market value. Anyway it's all conjecture right now,

Is he really utility? I have never seen him play centre. Or is he an Angus type who could can play centre at a push.

I'm not sure how much centre he has played, but from what I have seen he has the skills, mobility, passing game etc to be able to play there, set up plenty of tries last year and looked dangerous every time he was in a movement, created plenty too.

I don't think I am flogging this, Buddy, just answering other opinions with my own, like now. I am not saying we should chase him at big bucks, I think he might come to us for less than he could get elsewhere, that was my point from the start, he needs somewhere to play the rest of the year, Canberra have said that they won't play him, we have a big hole to fill and he could fill it. No big deal really, just an opinion, you might all be right, he might be a dickhead, but I might be right.... only time will tell. Cheers.
