  • Injury list

The injury list is piling up rapidly.

    - Billy Smith
    - Victor Radley
    - Sam Verrills
    - Isaac Liu
    - Daniel Tupou
    - JWH? Not too sure but he didn’t seem to play as many minutes as usual.
    - Cordner

The events of the last 6 days will weigh a very very heavy toll come finals time.

If Robbo takes us to another Premiership from here then he's hands down the greatest coach since Jack Gibson.

According to the NRL injury site these were the injuries from the Storm game

      Sydney Roosters
Boyd Cordner and Daniel Tupou suffered head knocks late in Thursday night's match against the Storm

Toops definitely has an ankle injury and had to come off- JWH looked lame when he went back on in the second half -played only 39 minutes- had two pedestrian runs then came off. -Cords has an ongoing groin injury being managed- may get rested next game but they really can't afford it- Liu has a broken rib and TBC for his return

Collins also came off for an HIA.

I'm only worried about Toops' one. NRLPhysio suggests it might be a syndesmosis injury.

We need Covid to stop the game for another 2 months so our squad can recover.

How does Robbo manage this mounting toll? The boys are battered and bruised, Cordner looked in a real bad way almost sickening give him a week off Aubs to replace him, Toops gee he looked like he had been shot the whole comp knows how Farken good he is so attacking him below the knees, the purple dogs know how to target and injure blokes. JWH is not right either I wonder what it is chest? Ribs? Collins should be fine.

So against the Cows we will be missing Cordner, Collins, Liu, Tupou on top of the already sidelined Radley and Verrills.

NRL Physio did note from his observations after the game that things looked promising as he was just icing it (no boot or crutches that he could see from the footage) - so hopefully at worst a week or two out

Will have to wait to the rooster's injury report to see if they did scans on the ankle

In one week we go from top of the table, no injuries, to being gone...……………………..

I'd rather rest the players now and perhaps getting some close win/lose in mid season but will be prime at the end than having no key players by then.

We have more tough forward battles next two weeks vs Cows and Raiders. If we win those we can probably afford to risk resting players vs Warriors and Titans in the following fortnight.

From that perspective last night's loss was a mini disaster. We absolutely must make top 4 with new rules.

There were always going to be more injuries and wear n tear than a normal season. Due to the stop start comp, fast pace rule changes and teams/individuals playing catchup with their physicality.

The team(s) with the greatest depth and injury/rehab management will win the day. We are in it up to our ears. Im fascinated to watch what Robbo does with personnel management and getting a 'peak' at the seasons back end.
