What if SBW finished the season with us?

Warning though Rooster fans - as mentioned by others, Sonny wont be the same 2013/14 SBW. Don't expect him to play the same way he did or have the same impact or athleticism.
I think he will make an impact but it will be something new - our squad and the way we play has also changed.
But if he can come off the bench and play limited minutes but put on some SBW magic we will be something special (I should say more special) - also the confidence boost for the squad will flow onto the rest of the squad at an important stage of the season.
I know however he may be (understandably) quiet and rusty at his first game back and watch 80% of this forum turn on him quick. You can multi prems but if you have a bad game, some on this forum will loose the plot. He had a lot of hype in the SL and boy did they give it to him after he failed to impress - in saying that their teams are average and make good players look bad while our squad could make average players look good (let alone someone of Sonny's talent)Last edited by NorthChook; 07-23-2020, 05:30 PM.

All I know is that any bloody media outlet reporting on SBW coming back here has the outrage of the rest of the leagues fans at an all time high. Feels good to see the hate as strong as it is right now
I'm not sure how much the bloke has left in the tank though. Defensively he looked pretty good with Toronto in the little action he did see. Got through a mountain of work on the defensive end. He looked rusty in attack though. It makes me wonder how much game time he's going to need at what? 35 years old? Especially to find that crucial game fitness

Nrl.com reporting that there is still the hurdle of
the Toronto contact to sort out - also confirming you can only loan players within NRL.
Says Williams (obviously) not wanting to break his contract with Wolfpack (or else he won’t get paid). Need to wait upon the Super League’s ruling on Toronto’s punishment.
If they let them stay in SL then the deal will be hard to negotiate (at least delaying everything more). If they relegate or axe them Williams’ contract should be void allowing him to leave.
from listening to the Wolfpack owner, sounds like he expects to be demoted from SL at least as he has told the players they can look for other clubs - he probably wants to get rid of the financial liability of Williams anyway.
with everything pointing towards roosters making room for SBW you’d think their inside knowledge is hearing the SL decision will be Toronto out and soon. This Rugba league and there is always a twist

I thought then that he was past it & would disrupt our club.
How wrong I was.
I won't make the same mistake if he comes back.
If Robbo thinks it's a good idea, I'll go with his judgementLast edited by King Salvo; 07-23-2020, 07:26 PM.

Just been reading comments on the vermin site. Along with all the usual drivel about the salary cap, some are suggesting that the NRL is letting the Roosters "destroy the very fabric of the game". Others are suggesting that the Roosters are all on performance enhancing drugs and that they are preparing Sonny's dose as we speak.
Wait until they find out this whole pandemic thing was a Nick Politis plot.
