I now reckon this is an outside chance.

Imagine how butthurt opposition fans would be!

It'd be great for the NRL. Make it happen Uncle Nick.

You'd have to think it's a real possibility.

I can't see the season going the distance is the only problem. Second wave COVID is a week or so away for NSW.

If there is an outbreak in NSW they will move the whole comp to Queensland

If we could get him for the last 7 or 8 games if the season it would be great. If we get more injuries in our forwards we are in deep trouble.
I’d be very surprised if Uncle Nick isn’t considering it.
If Sonny wants to come back and finish the NRL season it will be with us. I’m sure I read somewhere if he did come back he would only play with us. Handshake deal with Uncle Nick.

SBW is the perfect replacement for Radley we have been looking for since he went down against the Dragons, with lesser minutes..

With not many games to go SBW will be the perfect replacement and will find his A game under Robbo..

                Please make this happen.

                  tbh....

And it pains me to say this, not only as a fan of what SBW has achieved with us.. but also a loyal supporter of the R,W&B..

If sonny was to come back, I'd rather see him go to the Warriors.

They're up shit creek without a paddle, heck.. they don't even have a boat ATM.. They're doing the backstroke In shit creek.

Sonny would not only provide the talent they desperately need, he would also positively impact the cultural change they need more so than talent.

They're a terribly managed club with a wealth of talent, Sonny could fix that culture same as he did for us when we dropped off between 2010 & 2013.

warriors need more than 8 weeks of SBW to fix there issues.

I agree and was thinking this also.

TBH I don't think Sonny would be a good pick up - good for culture and if we had even more of an injury crisis but with the current team I wouldn't drop anyone for him.

Peeps I know we have some special memories of Sonny and he was one of the best of his generation but he really is getting on - watching the early games of super league this year he really struggled to get back into league against some pretty ordinary opposition (well below NRL standard). He would need to move back to Aus, quarantine, train again with a new squad, and play at NRL standard again after not playing a game since (or training with a team) since March...he struggled to do so with more time and training with Toronto and their pre-season. He is also quite injury prone- I think he brings great culture and professionalism so would have him help out with coaching etc 100% but if he feels he needs to play on (which he probably doesn't) I would feel he could make a different to the culture of the NZ Warriors who really need something (and probably deserve something after what they've done this season) and make a contribution to his home country's team.

A better NRL/NZ Rugby League also helps the Roosters in the long run

                          Agree mate, well said.

SBW is a Chooks legend and will remain so.

But any venture now to shoehorn him in to us for this year doesn't sit well with me. I'd rather the satisfaction of the three peat with our backs up against it, not drafting in once-in-a-generation players. A cheap move imo. .

I want to see the lads we've got pull it off.

It would be great to see SBW work wonders with the kiwi boys at the warriors. A strong Warriors is good for Rugby League, and right now they are in massive trouble as an organisation

Out of the other Aus/NZ Toronto players is there anyone else of interest in terms of a depth player?
                              - Chase Stanley (big no)
                              - Ricky Leutele (probably not - but maybe could be back up centre at worst case scenario)
                              - Josh McCrone (maybeeeeee? If the Lam/Lussick back up doesn't work or one of them go down I think McCrone can play a bit of dummy half and also be a halves back up? Not sure though, didn't pay much attention to him in the SL this year)
                              - Bodene Thompson (maybe but would be behind Farmer - probably would have excelled more at a team like the roosters but probably past it)
                              - Darcy Lussick (same as above but is too much of a boof head but has that family connection at the chooks - talent that really didn't go anywhere)
                              - Blake Wallace (who?)

**** that, I want SBW at the Roosters to win a 3peat.

The Warriors are screwed in 2020, as they are every year. The NRL isn't a charity. If they want to get better then they need to make better decisions and work harder.

Besides, there's no way Sonny will come back for 7-8 games to play for that rabble with no hope of finals footy. If he comes back for half a season it'll be to win a comp with the Roosters.
