    Chook.
His off field influence in 2013 imo was more valuable than even what he did on field... to suggest he would add very little is crazy to me.

      Chook.
He wouldn't be as good as in 2013.
The game has changed a lot.
Atm we're struggling...even if he could come off the bench and hold up our defence he'd be an asset.

What's the worst that could happen?
      He doesn't make a difference.
At least we wouldn't die wondering.

Wind him up, he can bust tackles.
Would only be for 5 games.
Games between good teams are now being won by 1, 2, and 4 points.
He might just be the difference between our winning or losing against Panthers, Storm etc.

He is only considering it but I hope he says no as already the circus has begun with players paraded at press conferences and being asked about him playing etc etc. They have an important game this weekend and need to be focusing on this.
If he has to give up that contract we are wasting our time.

        • If SBW comes back and helps us win a third straight premiership, then it's obvious that I have died and gone to a parallel universe where god is a chooks supporter. It would be absolutely surreal and almost too good to be true.

            • Anyone that thinks he wouldn't make a massive impact coming of the bench for even 20 minutes is kidding , no way Nick , Trent or Sonny would consider this unless it was for the good of the club , welcome back if it happens

              • The thought of having SBW for 30 minutes a game and the oppurtunities he can create for players like Keary and Teddy would add another deadly dimension to our attack..

Come on Uncle Nick make it happen!

I don’t think he needs to do it. He was given permission ( along with other Aus & Kiwi players) to play somewhere else for the remainder of this season with the proviso they’re all coming back for next season.
As Thirteen said earlier , it would an absolute Fkn privilege to see SBW in our jersey one more time. I’m walking around with a smile on my face that makes my wife think I’m cheating on her.

We had a different team then. Out of an era where we had Brian Smith, Todd Carney, Nate Myles etc and a lot of young influenced players. Many of our senior players were around during SBW's time and am sure still pass on SBW's methods. Plus we have also had Cronk's influence.

I don't think we have any off-field or professionalism problems now. We can probably teach SBW something more than he can teach us.

I personally don't believe he will add too much on the field. Will he be better than Cordner or Crichton on our edges? 20-30 minutes at lock he may offer something but it is a big gamble to think he will have similar impact when he was 27 years old. By the time he plays hopefully we have everyone back (apart from Rads and Verrills). So would he replace Maubs for the rest of the season? Maybe he can replace Lam and play hooker ;p

It would also be sad to lose someone for the sake of a few matches.

                        Happy to be proven wrong.

Anyway if he has to forego his Toronto contract to sign with us as reported in the media, I doubt he would do that.

                        • Where does it say he has to forgo his contract? It’s only mentioned here but not in any media outlets I read or listened to.

The NRL wouldn't register an NRL contract for a player who already holds a Super League contract.

Whether they would be willing to make a special exemption could be a possibility though given the circumstances.
