It's not the part about Robbo being the best coach. It's the part about us being far and away the club that players want to go to. I think the "transit lounge" is dead and buried. We have so many reasons to be proud of our club. Here's another one.

Trent Robinson has dethroned Craig Bellamy as the best coach in the NRL after collecting a quarter of the votes in the 2020 NRL Players’ Poll, to be unveiled this afternoon.
The Sydney Morning Herald, in conjunction with NRL.com, conducted a poll of 150 players from across all 16 clubs over the past fortnight, with the full results to be published in two parts over the next two days. In part one of the two-day reveal (published online at midday), the players anointed the game’s best in each position, the premier player, the best buy, who they think will win the competition and which team they would join if they had to leave their club.
The Herald can today provide a sneak peek into the results, with the Roosters mentor leapfrogging two greats in Bellamy and Wayne Bennett to sit atop the leaderboard as the game’s best coach. If it wasn’t enough that the Sydney Roosters were crowned as the best team in the competition with a premiership triumph last year, the poll also revealed the Sydney Roosters as the No.1 destination for free agents, with almost a quarter of respondents voting the Eastern Suburbs club as the team they would most want to join if they had to leave their clubs.
It speaks volumes for what Robinson has been able to instil at the tricolours since taking over in 2013, transforming the club both on and off the field through what he has implemented.
In his first seven seasons in charge, which culminated with the grand final win against the Raiders last October, Robinson has led the Roosters to four minor premierships, three premierships and three World Club Challenge victories for an overall win rate of 64.9 per cent. After seven seasons in their respective careers, Bennett and Bellamy had won two premierships each (later stripped from the Storm). Bellamy also had three minor premierships in his first seven seasons, with Bennett claiming just the one in 1992 on his way to his first title.
The only blemish on Robinson’s coaching record is the club’s 2016 campaign, which was derailed before it began when Mitchell Pearce was hit with an eight-game ban for his Australia Day antics. The Roosters finished that season in 15th managing just six wins.
Robinson, who finished second in voting in the NRL Players’ Poll last year, topped the category with 24 per cent of votes, well ahead of Bellamy with 17 per cent. South Sydney coach Bennett finished third with 10 per cent, while Ivan Cleary and Adam O’Brien were recognised for their strong starts to 2020 for their respective clubs to finish in the top five.
Bellamy has won the best coach award since the NRL Players’ Poll began in 2018, with Robinson finishing third last year and missing out on the top five altogether the previous season.
While few will argue that Robinson, chasing three straight titles in 2020, prepares his teams to perfection, the club's recruitment has been its greatest strength with him in charge.
The acquisition of Cooper Cronk and James Tedesco, which cost them the services of favourite son Pearce, catapulted the Roosters into premiership heavyweights. There have been very few recruitment blunders. Luke Keary, Josh and Brett Morris and Kyle Flanagan are just a few of the recent purchases that Robinson has nailed.
The fact Robinson is held in such high regard in NRL circles is also highlighted in the Roosters receiving 23 per cent of votes from players asked which team they would want to join if they had to leave their current clubs.
Despite their dire predicament, the brand of the Broncos remains strong with 17 per cent of players choosing Brisbane ahead of the Storm, Knights and Sea Eagles.
