The excuse master is at it again - https://www.news.com.au/sport/stick-...98ed758b00cec9

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart is privately filthy about the hand dealt to the Raiders in the build-up to the NRL grand final rematch.

The Raiders take on the Roosters after that controversial grand final for the first time on Thursday.

“I spoke to him about doing something [for the Telegraph] for the grand final rematch, and as you know I get on pretty well with Rick,” Kent explained.

“He said mate stick it up your a***, because everyone is talking about this grand final replay and we’ve been given a five-day turnaround. The Roosters have got seven days.

“He said second to that, we asked if we could stay the night before in a hotel to get ready for the game given we’re on a five-day turnaround.

“The NRL said no. He said what about the AFL teams, they’re all staying in motels. Why can’t we?

    “No not allowed to.

“OK, well let us fly up there on the day of the game. No its an away game so you must get a bus up. The NRL won’t even let them fly on the day of the game, they have to get a bus up. Come on. Everybody sits there and goes this is the grand final replay, that’s how you kick it in the backside.”

Nothing like a good demonstration of little man syndrome to get you motivated for a fight. Watch these get trotted out at the presser should we hammer them. Sook!

    Chook.

yeah true.. interesting stat i read yesterday including lindsay - no other prop has averaged more meters per carry then linsday so that is very good to see. He has come leaps and bounds this season and is only getting better.

It sounds to me like Ricky is already making me excuses to be prepared for a loss. Talk about a whinger.
How about two weeks ago when we had to fly to Brisbane for the Storm game on a 5 day turnaround. You didn’t hear Robbo whining or complaining.
He just plays with the hand dealt.

It’s a 3 hour bus ride. Seriously, If they were to fly it would probably take just as long. Bus to the airport, time to load the plane, then the flight, then bus to the ground.
              He is just a whinger.
Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t the Raiders get the extra day before the GF?

Agreed complete travel time bus v plane - club to hotel - bus would come out quicker - it’s just Ricky trying to motivate his players by creating the siege mentality.

I can understand some of Stuart's frustrations , this was meant to be there year and it's all turning wrong for them. The Bateman injury and contract squabbles plus covid which along with the cowboys and warriors has probably effected more than other teams. I don't know why they were forced to play out of Campbelltown when Canberra had no cases and the travel knocked them around and now they have lost their most valuable player in Hodgson on top of a host of other injuries.
Im not underestimating the good players they have left but I'd be disappointed if we don't beat them off a short turnaround and back on the cricket ground which our players love.
Sticky will be using the " all these bastards are against us" approach to no avail.

Head Coach Trent Robinson spoke to the media ahead of the Roosters Round 10 match against the Raiders.

Roosters: Coach Trent Robinson was coy on Wednesday about whether winger Brett Morris will return from a groin injury, and if so, which side of the field he'll play on. Morris, who has occupied the right edge most of the season, is named to start in place of Ryan Hall.

"He trained well yesterday so it will be when he walks in this morning [we'll make a call] but he had a good day yesterday so that's positive news," Robinson said.

"We'll have to see [if he ends up on left edge with brother Josh]. You know what I'm like with that, we'll name our teams but you don't give a day's notice on changes or things you want to do. We'll have to wait and see."

Robinson said hooker Jake Friend had been progressing well through HIA protocols but still has another hurdle to clear. "He's got full contact today [Wednesday], that's the last protocol for the seven-day one. He's got some contact to do. He's been good all week so last one today," the coach said.

Captain Boyd Cordner is back after being rested due to a head knock, pushing Mitch Aubusson and Poasa Faamausili to the reserves. Isaac Liu (broken rib) remains in the extended squad. The Roosters have won their past 10 games at the SCG.

Raiders: Curtis Scott has been ruled out due to an infected cut on his arm, with Semi Valemei replacing him on the bench. Hooker Josh Hodgson (knee) and Bailey Simonsson (shoulder) have joined the injury list, with Siliva Havili and Jordan Rapana starting in their places and Tom Starling coming onto the interchange.

Joe Tapine has been named to start at lock with Kai O'Donnell reverting to the bench. The Raiders play their first game at the SCG since the 1987 grand final.

I think it sounded fine/honest - pretty confident Friend will play.

More suss on whether that late change with B Moz switching to the left (or being out and Hall coming in) - sounds like the reporter had some sort of knowledge of a late switch in the back line which Robbo didn't want to dwell on as he admitted he likes to keep late changes late

Are you kidding - we are all victims on here mate - victims of BB’s pessimism, 13’s continual hooker gags and ism’s ridiculously long posts.
