  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Raiders

We finally get the privilege of seeing our great team in action in person. It’s been a long wait and the longest period of time I haven’t attended a game for in over 3 decades.

What a great matchup against last years runners up. Another opportunity to prove that our 3 wins v them last year was no fluke. They could have gotten 60 again in that grand final and still wouldn’t have been good enough.

Ricky Stuart is a rude and sour little individual. Can’t wait to watch his press conference tonight and listen to his latest bunch of excuses for the newest loss. Guess what Ricky? We got injuries too!

Excited to have my wife Fourteen (who traditionally only attends grand finals) joining me tonight with 2 of my kids Fifteen and Sixteen. I can’t bring Seventeen cause if he runs away during the game, I certainly won’t be chasing him while watching The Mighty Roosters.

C’mon People it’s time to fire up cause THE MIGHTY ROOSTERS ARE BACK IN TOWN! See you at The SCG.

Having watched the Fox promo for the game a few times I would like to note the following.

Firstly how that tackle on Kez when kicking the ball in the opening minutes of the game (the one where Canberra were first allowed to call out (incorrectly) they were robbed past muster from 2 touch judges and 2 referees defies logic. It’s one of the worst tackles on a kicker I have ever seen.

Secondly, Boydo standing up to Cummins when he fears the Cronk tackle might result in a penalty try says basically “if you hadn’t got the call wrong upfield a couple of minutes ago then we wouldn’t even be here”. Absolute gold.

I will be be there tonight with family and friends and can’t wait.

Your mrs is fourteen? Where did you find her? At Epsteins island?

              Sticky is winding them up.

"Raiders coach Ricky Stuart gave his players an extra day's rest this week in a bid to be physically ready for the rematch after a five-day turnaround following the loss to Melbourne.

"We've been written off and not given the opportunity to show what's in the inner sanctum and to reveal the identity we are about at the club," Stuart said.

"Through this tough adversity it gives us a great opportunity to show people what we're about, whoever we play ... to show why we work so hard and what the jumper is about."

I would love us to towel them up and heap more adversity on poor ole Stick and if it makes Jarrod Croker cry again all the better.

              Chook.

Glad to be back at the SCG. Hopefully playing on normal surfaces will spell the end for our injuries. Thanks Wankbest and Suncrap

Honestly, this is a danger game as a wounded, under siege Raiders will want to cause an upset. Crush, kill, DESTROY!

One of your best ever Thirteen.

The game I have been waiting for since we iced the cake last year. Havent forgiven the media for trying to discredit our magnificent b2b achievement. Believing the 6 again call affected the outcome is akin to thinking the BLM organisation is about helping people's lives.

Bsck to the spiritual home with some diehard supporters to cheer us on. The scene is set.

No Bateman or Hodgson makes their job harder, but we miss Vic and gf hero Sammy.

Interesting to see how our three quarters line up tonight.

Lets give Ricky something more to whinge and be jealous about. Easts by 16.

I thought we were the wounded and under siege

Two specialist right wingers. I will be surprised if Brett Morris plays.
