Can’t read the article as on the telegraph’s website but looks they are reporting roosters are moving in to upgrade Sam Walkers contract to ward off any teams looking to poach him

he is already on $300k at the roosters, indicating they must definitely think he is something special. That’s a lot of money and cap for someone who hasn’t played 1st grade, just turned 18 while we already have a halves pairing

excited to see what he becomes - what to people think the future vision is? Where does this leave young flanno in a year or two? roosters looking to re-sign Keary next year, not sure how long for but guessing we need him to guide walker when it’s his time

Flanno also off contract 2022? Big call to make if he keeps his development going

I think Walker would have been playing NSW cup this year and have skipped 20’s if it wasn’t all cancelled - hope this doesn’t set him back any further in his development

He has a really good running game, I think they see him as the long term replacement for Keary.

The 300k was for 2 years,so 150 a year was not excessive for a young guy being chased by 10 other clubs and rugby. He signed with us for less than several other clubs offered.

It’s big bucks for a guy who’ll end up on the wing, centre or perhaps second row. At his growth rate, will likely be too big for fullback.

As soon as he plays 20s or NSW Cup his money comes into play and it has nothing to do with age.

$150K is a lot long way off $300K and that is a possiblility although I am still doubtful given the level he has only played at and there are others getting game time infront of him.
