I don't think there's any plans for Walker.

Like KB said he's got a lot to prove first, thinking the club would make long term strategic plans around a teenager is a bit naive especially a half who really you're never going to know until their early to mid 20's how good they're truly going to be.

It's just not that deep, I believe the club just sign the best youngsters they can and then invest and educate them in the Roosters way. If they're good enough then there will be opportunities for them but it's up to them to step up and create that opportunity in the way someone like Sam Verrils has.

In saying all that I really hope we don't lose the kid, he looks extremely talented and Robbo clearly sees something in him to take him over to Barcelona speaks huge volumes of how highly thought of he is as a future star.

Also seen a lot of comments about Luke Keary being our 5/8, really apart from the number on his back he is without doubt our halfback and has been for some time now.

The Walker bros already been ruled out by the Warriors for the job.

Looks like the mail was wrong.

There is no need to tie ourselves up in knots through over speculation. Our club knows exactly what it is doing and, like what R6 said, Walker must be something special for the Roosters to be doing for him what has been done so far. All will be revealed about how special he probably is in good time.
        MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Interesting point Rooster_6 . It made me wonder, at what age do halves typically show their quality? I remember Toovey looking like he was still a boy when he debuted against Great Britain, I think it was. What about the likes of Langer, Stuart, Johns, Alexander etc? They seemed to be standouts from the time they hit first grade but I don't recall how old they were at the time? Thurston seemed to take a while or maybe it just took me a while to notice him. Mitchell Pearce is an interesting study. He debuted at a young age and I always thought he was limited and maybe unfairly, I still do. Some might say he would have been better served to do an 'apprenticeship' in the lower grades. Certainly Daley and Fittler hit the big time at a young age. But was the 5/8 role of the day more conducive to that than the role of a halfback? Interested to hear people's thoughts.

Neither Fittler or Daley played 5/8 full time when they debuted. Both played a lot at centre in their early days

Yeah, that's a good point Headless Chook . They did. Fittler also had a stint at lock, didn't he.

Yep, played a lot of rep footy there with Johns at half and Daley at 6
