  • 3 interesting points from the presser...

I thought Robbo gave a really generous press conference (said way more than he had to). Of particular interest:
    1. We had 5 days off before the game. Great plan!
2.Robbo was really happy with Teddy, Keary and JWH. Said they all 'played themselves into the game'... they tried hard, nothing worked for them and they just kept at it until we won 18-10. I got that impression (and that the ref unfairly slowed us down while forcing us to give the Warriors as much time/space as possible in attack). While the Warriors are shyte this season, they'd clearly done their homework on us and this was like their GF (whereas we took 5 days off + probably didn't do a lot of work on their game plan...etc). IMO tonight was all about effort rather than skill and we got over the line on effort alone (against a team we had nothing to prove against). It was a great team effort, particularly from those 3 (and Sitili... I thought he stepped up big time! Saw him in everything).
    3. Some insight into welfare (which we were discussion earlier in the week on here in relation to Madge's approach + how we are different). When asked whether he's gonna be cautious about Cords + play it safe, Robbo says 'yes ALWAYS!' I loved hearing this because it confirmed my take on the culture... if you're busted then you'll be encouraged to rest rather than risk further damage.

    5 days, wow. Ok.
Well not all doom and gloom as I thought then

I thought we didn’t try much fancy stuff and now it looks like it was the plan, also the fact the ref didn’t blow any repeat sets when he could’ve easily blown 30-40 in second half.

Yes, it was a good presser - sort of gave away we are in a recovery period atm which is why gameday intensity is down.

          Trust in Trent.

the chooks are trying to freshen up on the run while playing in a faster game. Its a juggling act and im sure Robbo would be more then happy with the 2 points...

We have the best brain in footy to get us through all these different challenges that have arisen with rule changes and covid dramas.
I am very confident the roosters will come out of this on top of the heap with a 3 peat

I am not very confident yet, but I am somewhat more hopeful and optimistic than I was pre-COVID. It may sound bad, but seeing several other clubs being struck down by injury suggests that we may not end up in as much of a precarious position, in relative terms, as I thought we would.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
