With Indigenous round approaching there's a really interesting article on Roosters Trainer, Travis Touma and his Indigenous background on our club website and nrl.com
Roosters fans can be very proud of our Indigenous heritage and the clubs commitment and contributions to First Peoples issues and causes. The clubs Reconciliation Action Plan is worth a read, although I think there may be further initiatives that have been implemented since its publication.
I guess when we think of our favourite Indigenous players one stands out and Arthur gets my nod, but Salvo is not to far behind. Salvo was definitely our rock in hard times but when you think of the skills he possessed he was so much more than that, he rally did do it all. Interested to know if anyone has different views. Keeping the way he left separate does Latrell get near the top of the list for anyone?
Putting a different spin on it is there is there a favourite Indigenous player from another club that you would have liked to see play for the Chooks? As a kid I was in awe of Larry Corowa and would have love to see him streaking down the side line in the RWB.
BTW. Been watching the footage and I reckon 74/75 Artie would kill it in the middle in todays game.
