  • Robbo has the NRL media jumping at shadows about the makeup of our team this week some journos think up to 6 players could return from injury (BMoz/JMoz/JWH/Cordner/Toups/Crichton) others think it will only be 2 (JWH/JMoz).

    • Sacrifice the Storm game?
      No!
We're 4th, no chance of overtaking the top 3...and the Raiders are breathing down our neck.
We must keep winning! (if at all possible).
      Our draw is a joke.
Look what we got for the last 3 rounds!
      Should've been a Lotto style draw...it wasn't.
      Baaah!

Every game of ours is a "Grand Final".

Which will make the beer taste even better at the club after the GF if we win.

        • We are a much better chance of overtaking the storm if we beat them on Thursday there will only be 2pts between us.

panthers agree no chance but both storm and eels run home isn’t so easy - but we must win this week to have any chance that’s for sure.

The Raiders and Knights both have to win two more games than us for us to miss the Top 4.
You have little faith in our team with Bmoz, Toups, Jmoz, Cordner, Crichton, JWH and SBW coming back soon.
We will overtake Parra if the refs stop managing their wins. They should be on 14 points if they were fairly reffed like the other teams.

I'm in agreeance with BB on this one , we need a top 4 scalp and if you look at the Raiders draw even though they have their share of injury dramas and aren't playing as well as last year besides the game against us i don't see too many fixtures where they will have any issues getting the two points where as we will be playing teams fighting for a top 8 berth.
Id love to get a victory over the storm on Thursday and close the gap on them.

              • If we beat the Storm then there's a possibility that we may not lose another game we want to win this season (we may drop rnd 25 or 26 depending on the ladder situation).

Given how we've been mopping up the wins; and with a brigade of now fresh bonafide superstars with huge experience to return, I'd be terrified if I were the opposition.

As it stands, Robbo the master horse trainer is timing our gallop down the straight to perfection once more. So I can't wait for Thursday.

We won't sacrifice the Storm game
but we will sacrifice the Storm

                      • IMO Robbo will risk a few more games. Making the finals with the best possible team is more important than making top 4.

But like I said last night we’ll nurse our way into the finals and have most of the A team back and rested! we’ll get Sonny back soon. Flanno will step right back. Hutchinson will join him and young walker may be on the bench v Tigers and Broncos.

No smartness or hindsight about it.

My point was to rest as many players as possible for this game as I felt it was a game we couldn't win anyway with all the injuries we had. As I said there are no byes this year which makes it hard to rest players as it is. There was never going to be damage to our for and against as we are so far ahead of those who could catch us.

The guys were never going to tank it as some misread it and I felt they actually fought a good fight considering all the ball the Storm had with half a dozen players playing a handful of games and we finished with one on the bench.

It was an opinion that Robbo was never going to implement.

Anyway, we now have a few of the troops coming back. In a way some of the injuries could be a blessing for us as if we finally have a bit of luck with injuries for the rest of the year we could be the freshest and fittest team come semis. Everyone has written us off in the media and all the other supporters are very cocky about all our injuries. I couldn't believe some of the shit coming out last night with some gloating while Keary was in an ambulance not knowing whether he had internal bleeding or organ damage. All because if he was out for the season the Roosters threepeat was doomed. It's just a footy game ffs.

If we happen to win this year it will be the greatest premiership win since inception.
The salt will never have tasted so salty as the media will make it out to be our greatest ever victory and arguably the greatest team since the Dragons era.

                            Go Easts.

I think Robbo has done great but if I could wish he'd done something differently last night, was to realise that we were going to be hit hard, like they did last time. In 2 games they injured 7 of our players to their 1 and that was cause Vunivalu went too low on SST and got his jaw broken. That'll it teach him...Meanwhile they injured Cordner, Toupo, Collins, JWH, Maubbs, Lam and Keary. It's how they' re beating us and even the Raiders copied them. Maybe we don't have big players like they have and that may be a problem if and when we meet them again.
