They are a long way from being one of the dominant packs in the comp.

For the most part, they played like cream puffs last year & that's the recent history so that's all that matters
yeah true but this is the offseason where we are allowed to live in hope and dream because in the season we will be forced to live with reality..

and that's when many of us turn to alcohol to try and escape reality, if only for a while.

        Exactly.

I have heard that he has a pretty bad chronic foot injury. SOO that's laughable.

He has to play FG regularly before he does anything else.

And I hope he proves me wrong & carves it up & plays for QLD but I doubt it will be this year.

Your avatar looks like former fullback Foley.

Lock is real problem. Again you are overstating the under 20 s abilities. I'd put aubbs at lock and make sure he makes 50 tackles a game.

u20s? cordner and bosden have both played firsts with success. in fact bosden was arguably our major off season recruit so im sure he is more than capable. That said, if you do still question the ability of cordner/bosden at lock; FPN would be a more than capable option there instead with taka, cherro, bosden or cordner filling the final bench spot. That said, i prefer the balance of the team i put above. cordner and bosden are supremely talented and have shown in the first grade they have had that they have what it takes. FPN also serves the bench by providing invaluable experience as although talented, masoe and tasi are still young and raw so being able to bring FPN in off that bench is a massive plus. Also i think mortimer is the ideal utility. can play 6, 7 and 9 comfortably and is being groomed as a potential 1 as well. dont discount his experience either. he has over 50 first grade games plus a gf under his belt.

While im at it, my backline to complement that pack would be:
                1. Minichiello
                2. Tagive/Moga
                3. Leilua
                4. SKD
                5. Perrett
                6. Anasta
                7. Pearce

Why do so many people see Maubs as an option at lock. He is our best edge runner and should be a certainty on the right side to start the season. He helps out SKD in defence a lot more than Guerra is capable of doing at this point in time. He also does not have the offensive workrate to play lock. If you want to go for a worker at 13 I'd be playing either Bosden or Cordner there. Personally though, I think FPN should be there to start the year. He does a lot more tackling in that position than he's given credit for and his runs last year were better than those of both Cordner and Bosden in the games they played at lock. I'd have Cordner as my bench forward fractionally ahead of Takairangi, and that's only if Leilua is played in the backs otherwise he gets the spot. Cordner should not be worried though about seeing first grade really. He's first in line if an injury occurs to either our lock or one of our second rowers as I see it.

Fpn is on last legs. If he doesn't dominate he should be released

The bosdens and cordnrs are still green. Don't over rate them. I don't think cordner will get much first grade....but why rush him.

Tala and Mose are more damaging thank Fpn has been in 3 years.

im led to believe that FPN is training the house down and has really turned a corner personally since his issues at the back end of last year so time will tell i guess whether or not he does get back to his damaging best

I love that saying, such & such is training the house down.

roz remind me when was FPN at his damaging best. Would that amount to 10 games in 4 years.

im by no means defending him and will go so far as to say that with the young talent we have coming through, if he doesnt put together some strong consistent and powerful footy this year, I would like to see him released. As a 24 odd year old with 80ish first grade games under his belt and 10 internationals to match you would expect a bit more drive and consistency than what he has provided to date. Time will tell but his potential cannot be denied. who knows, the opportunity to redeem himself and even become one of the leaders in our fresh faced pack could be enough for him to fulfill his potential.

and to answer your question, i think you are being harsh if you dont think he had a pretty consistently strong 2010 particularly towards the backend and in the finals. some really dominant and inspired performances in attack and defence
