I had $100 riding on the Bears/Easts premiership double at $112 as well...part of the nightmare.

Oh damn that is a nightmare! So close too - bears would have gone close if they did eliminate newtown, the rest that were left in the NSW Cup were pretty ordinary (enough for Newtown who were 7th to win the comp? I think it was 7 vs 8 in the Grand Final). In saying that bears were gassed against newtown - it was a miracle they got back in it but they had a decent squad. NSW cup is an unpredictable beast most weeks- i've had many bets where bears should be a sure thing against a bottom team and ended up getting smashed.
