That's just my personal opinion. And to be honest I was never a fan of the bloke from the start - more hype than substance, probably because he was injured more often than not.

If only Warrington weren't playing the Vermin I'd consider going to the game myself. But I refuse to contribute in any way financially to the Vermin or the Scumdogs, so I'll just hope that someone who does go writes a report on here. A few Vermin injuries courtesy of Moz would be a real bonus - espec to Luke & Inglis. Also, can you imagine the furore of Moz hammered their new 'saviour'??? Reynolds and put him out for a few months. I'd like to see that.. Our younger forwards are going to benefit greatly.

I'm not a real fan of Cherrington RR and have said on more than one occasion that if he does not show some semblence of being able to stay on the park for a few games this year, he shouldn't be persisted with. But that probably means he will get a 3 year extension.
Players like Friend stuff up, espec when they are young and easily led. The key is whether they learn from their mistakes - hopefully Jake has. Others keep making the same mistakes over and over (ie Carney/Myles). The best thing the Roosters ever did for Jake is cut him off for the time they did and give him a reality check of what life would be without footy
Accept that I will never be a fan of Scummy Bill. If he ends up at the Roosters, so be it. Just one of many players over the years I wish the Club had not purchased. It's not as if the Roosters have had much luck with expensive imports.

I think your stance on SBW seems to be based on who he played for and who perhaps manages him and his acquaintances and not how he lives his life.
Fact is I am a Chook and most on here are Roosters. And the two genders think differently, as I'm sure most of you have realised (the Men are from Mars Women are from Venus saying does have much merit).
Us Chooks can take a dislike to a person at first sight. There is no rhyme or reason for it and most blokes call it irrational but that's how it is. And no point in fighting it cause it's a natural reaction.
And for whatever reason I took an instant dislike to both Willie Wanka and Scummy Bill when they first came into grade. And I don't believe it had anything to do with the fact they played for the Dogs. And I've had no reason over the years to doubt my initial reaction to either to be honest.
So my stance is Scummy Bill is even less logical than you thought. It's built around gut instinct. His 'entourage' certainly doesn't help though. Mundane is another I've never been able to take to from day 1.
Be comforted though, I don't just have this reaction to sports players. It's when you have this reaction to a work colleague that it gets tricky.
I can see MRHK shaking his head as he reads this and thinking "she's ever more loony than I thought". But hey, life would be bloody boring if we were all the same. And I can take the snide remarks and comments, because I'm happy with who I am and don't really give a shyte what anyone else thinks.

What I would ask NC is you be a little more reasonable in your assessment of him. What may or may not have happened when he left the Bulldogs we will never really know. However, there are always two sides to a story. The Daily Telegraph helped make Sonny bill public enemy #1, just as they did with TC. However, that is a different issue. What I am really saying is look beyond the media representations of him and the most base character assassinations of him that most NRL fans will come up with. I think Sonny Bill is a professional and a gifted footballer. He is a marketing dream, he is a good looking guy, doesn't drink or party and is an absolute beast on the field. Don't be so fast to dump him and Mason together.
Finally when and if Sonny Bill does join us I would suggest that all of us Roosters supporters get behind the bloke and support him. What would make you happier;
A) Sonny Bill quits half way through his first season due to scandal, more money elsewhere or lack of interest
or
B) Sonny Bill tears it up and wins us matches, perhaps even a premiership.
Of course you would want choice A. Come on NC, get over your narrow-minded hatred and get excited. By the way Brad Fittler, Adrian Morley and Craig Wing were all high profile imports and they did okay!

NC I never took to SBW very much either. Fantastic footballer but the way he walked out on the dogs I thought was cowardly and disgraceful. It's not that he walked out on them (that was his perogative if he thought he wasn't being treated fairly), it was the secretive, childish way in which he did it. It wasn't a good look and showed him to be selfish and not a team player. Of course he was quite young then, naive and probably easily influenced by his manager / Mundine etc. Presumably he has matured now like most young men do (footballers or otherwise) -unless we're talking about Todd Carney! I am willing to consider that he has matured and that he now sees that he could have and should have handled things differently. Not sure if he has ever apologised for how he handled it all though?? As to whether I want him at the Roosters, I'm still not sure on that. I'm concerned about the media circus that comes with him. I'm concerned about the supposed length of the contract and I'm concerned about who we may lose to accommodate him. I'm also concerned that we've been bitten too many times by ex-dogs - all from practically the same team!

MRHK I would call Fittler a high profile import, but not Wing or Morely. Wing was a young kid of 20 who had little first grade experience - his biggest claim to fame was winning Cleo Batchelor of the Year. And Morley when he came, whilst he was an international, was pretty much unheard of in Aus apart from his judiciary record.
To me Fittler is the last high profile, expensive import that was a success and he came in the 90s! Face, it the Roosters have had a diabolical record with expensive imports for over past 10 years.
I'll never get excited over Scummy Bill coming to the Roosters MRHK and I will be cock-a-hoop if the deal for 2013 does not eventuate (Can I make that Option C?). And I don't hate the bloke, I just don't like him - there is a difference you know.
You and I will agree to disagree on this subject - as we appear to on most.
