Staggs is a fantastic footballer and pound for pound I'd say the strongest bloke in the comp but I couldn't see us affording him and as mentioned above we are pretty well stocked at right centre.

He isn't going to develop much at the Bronco's. I don't see us bringing in Stagg's but I am reminded that you didn't want Maloney and Cronk, wanted us to keep Pearce and have over the years spruiked signing Aiden Tolman and Matt Lodge, so it's probably fair to keep that in mind when weighing your opinion here.

Good player but abit erratic for me, looks rushed most of the time.for me Billy Smith gets 1st grabs at centre with Christian Tuipulotu on the wing

The Broncos would struggle to develop a polaorid at the rate they're going.

I just don't think buying someone like Staggs fits in with what we have done so well with our recruitment. I think right now if he went on the open market he would be getting pretty strong offers, probably quite a few clubs willing to pay for his potential.

IMO we have done a really good job of buying high end talent at their peak, I.e SBW, Maloney, Jennings, Teddy and Cronk (not necessarily physical peak but in terms of what we needed from him he was at the peak of his powers).

And then balanced that really well with buying extremely talented players at a low market value, I.e Liu, Moa, SST, Toops, Keary, Tetevano, Fergo, Bmoz, Jmoz and I'm probably forgetting a few more.

That's not to say we haven't gotten it wrong or deviated slightly on occasion but generally speaking that method seems to have worked for us.

Staggs doesn't fall into either category. He's extremely talented but he would come with a hefty price tag. Paying good money for a starting player hoping he will realise his potential in a year or two is not effective cap management.

As for my other 10,000 plus posts on here yeh I got plenty wrong, plenty more you haven't mentioned too and I'll definitely get a heap more wrong in my next 10,000 posts.

But I love talking Footy and I love talking about the Roosters. I don't do this for anyone else so I don't really care for how much weight my opinion has I just want to have good interesting discussion with people who share a similar interest and love for the game.

I really respect Fletch and his/her opinion on the game even though we often disagree hence why I offered up my opinion, there was no malice in what I said. Debate my point or don't that's up to you but let's leave the personal attacks to the side and just enjoy a civil discourse, the inherent doesn't always have to be so combative.

Would have loved to see how Billy Smith had gone this year. So disappointing for the Kid.
No way we are paying overs for Staggs. As 6 said, does not fit our recruitment policy.

Staggs is a natural but likely we keep Manu as that's the spot unless the re vamped Warriors get him

It was pleasing to see Billy Smith running in the latest training pics from last week. Hopefully means his recovery is tracking well.

Yep... I'd sign him up in a heart beat. The kid can play and kick. I'm not sure if Billy Smith will be able to return and hit the ground running next season straight away and the Morris brothers haven't officially committed to go again next season yet even though we'd all love to have them both go one more year. Roosters were going to sign up Bronson Xerri before he pissed hot so I think Kotoni will be an ideal option to consider and it looks as though he wants out of Brisbane as well. Aubbo may retire, Hall returns back to the UK, SBW will be gone and we've also gotten rid of Asu Kepaoa (Tigers) so we may be able to squeeze him in and if the Morris boys retire then there's even more $$$$ that we could use to sign Staggs !
