The point was made on 360 tonight and I agree with it.

Equating what Cleary said to what Bennett did, which could lead to the game being suspended again and so many people losing their incomes, is absolutely farcical.

    They both copped $20,000 fines.

No apologies from neither the Rabble, nor the Dragons over what Vaughan did (knowing full well what he was doing was wrong). Pretty pathetic really.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the referees' integrity cannot be disputed. If there is no credibility, what hope does the game have?

    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Paul Vaughan owning up and apologising in a statement is enough- you cant ask for more.

The Broncos said they are looking into more before issuing a course of action...i think thats fair enough. TPJ owes everybody an apology....lets see.

As for Bennett well the most positive thing i can say is he is being consistent with his arrogance in blaming the NRL for not making the rules clear enough....and of course had his pot shot at the media calling a journo small minded. He has always had this sarcastic, condescending manner about him but as he gets older he really is turning into a top shelf dick head

What a blight this dickhead Bennett is on the game seriously (at least in the last few years) sits at press conferences with his arms crossed like a toddler that just dropped their ice cream and wanting more, calling people names, giving one word answers, he’s bitter after being thrown out of Brisbane on his bony ass I hope he destroys that filth of a club like he did Newcastle.

i like bennett but he's been dumber than dumb on this. okay sydney doesn't have wide spread covid-19 and the odds of him getting it in coogee weren't great, but they were the same as the odds of people getting it at the crossroads hotel.

v'landys showing good leadership. he realises the stakes.

Didn't see the game, but I know what Cleary is talking about.....Don't think it's about integrity of the refs, it's about them sub-concsiously (or consciously) trying to make the game more even to make it a better spectacle. Trent Robinson mentioned it a couple of years back as we've been on the receiving end quite a few times (anyone remember the semi final against Penrith when had them down 26-0 nil or something? Then suddenly, penalty for double movement that wasn't even checked and turned out to be a fair try and then being caned in the penalties for little or no reason?) Robbo said (after another game, I think) that it's not up to the refs to try and make the game a more entertaining spectacle'.

Getting fined $20,000 for those comments is ridiculous! I wouldn't pay it.

I can't fathom how any Roosters supporter could possibly like Bennett after what he did to us in 2006. I can't stand the hypocrite in any way shape or form.

Wayne came across as a selfish old bugger who won't admit his wrong in his handling of this grapper incident. The players in the teams that can't make the finals are really going to struggle to maintain the discipline to stay inside the bubble.
I reckon the league will come down hard on pangai jnr to try to make an example of him.

Wayne Bennett should simply retire if he can't stick to the rules he helped make with project appollo , like he suggested players should do if they didn't like it....
                      hes definately lost the plot

I dislike him after buying his book Don’t Die with the Music in You. Might’ve been a Warren Boland recommendation. Fk me it was bad. Just quotes from other people. Could see how it might work for a professional league player though.
