  • Team at full strength

This is the team that will win our 3rd premiership in a row.
    1 Tedesco
    2 Tupou
    3 J Morris
    4 Manu
    5 B Morris
    6 Keary
    7 Flanigan
    13 Liu
    12 Crighton
    11 Cordner
    10 Taukiaho
    9 Friend
    8 JWH
    Inter
    14 Butcher
    15 SBW
    16 Toupeniua
    17 Collins
    18 Aubbo
    19 Lam
    20 Faamausili

This is our most formidable team at full strength. I just can't fit Aubbo in at the expense of Toupeniua who is a real weapon and we need the size of Collins on the bench. As far as half goes I can't go past Flanigan, his goalkicking alone is a must and to be honest I feel he's a better player than Lam.

I can’t leave out Aubo. I know Butcher can play in the middle and Aubo can’t but I’d swap these 2. We have Sonny and Lindsay who can relieve the middle guys and Sonny who can play wider if required.

      it's a good team.
still a bit of footy to be played and if lam kills it, he's in.
aubo had his best game this season last week and if he keeps that up he might get a spot. that also gives us cover in the 6,7 and 9, with aubo defending in the halves and the 2 other guys running the show. if jake goes down a half would have to go into dummy half.

Is Chris Flannery coming out of retirement to play half back for us?
Or is there another Flannery we don't know about?
Also - just gotta have a utility on the bench. Depending on form/opposition wither SBW or Toupenuoa makes way for Maub or Lam.

Chris Flannery was a versatile player for us, but I don’t think he played much halfback, also he is 40.

I just hope that every one on that list is available.

              Great headache to have.

If my arm is twisted I would probably find a spot for Lam on the bench probably instead of Butcher. I agree with the sentiments on Maubs. Sadly he isn't in our best 17 anymore imho.

The rest of that team are locked in if all fit.

                Surely Aubo can kick goals.

Yep Butcher hasn't done enough so far to warrant being selected in front of Aubo.

Can’t leave Flanno out either. In really close games the goal kicker is crucial. It’s madness Trent is dumping him. How many points does Lam score a game vs Flanno?

Add me to +1 for Aubo. He always has his best games when we need him most. Butcher may have that, but I'm not seeing it, yet.

I agree Buddy, even though I think the world of Aubo for what he has done for our club. Given what has happened with injuries and interruptions this season, he would certainly be the next on my list, and so would not be far away from the action anyway.

While I agree that Kyle probably gets to start at the moment (mainly because of his kicking), I could change my mind easily after Lam plays another week or two. Despite the goal kicking, it is a toss of the coin in terms of who to use at the moment.

much, much more important than that.

I heard just last week that Flannery is somewhere here in QLD coaching. Probably Redcliffe.

As for Flanno or Lam...I prefer Flanno. He was always improving IMO and the close games v dud teams wasn't all his fault. If big forwards are running to him to get him out of the game, then it's up to others to support him much like they supported Cooper.
