    1. Perrett
    2. Towers
    3. Williamson
    4. Jones
    5. KenDoll
    6. Symonds
    7. Pearce
    8. Nuuausala
    9. Friend
    10. Myles
    11. Cherrington
    12. Fitzgibbon
    13. Aubusson

    14. Samuela
    15. Sa
    16. Shackleton
    17. Paea

I would definitely be considering Isaac Maliota, Dane Cordner and Dylan Sharp in the pack if Williamson isn't selected (move Aubusson to centre). I do not want to see Soliola or Mason in Roosters colours again.

this is all well and good, but is this actually likely to happen or just a dream. I'd love to see symonds, williamson in the side and symonds at 5/8 but i just cant see them putting that many young players into the team.
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

      14. Ahern
      15. Majoulli
      16. Shackleton
      17. Paea

Mate i'd dump Sa & I'm not 100% on Samuela... Use jones as a backup #9 & Maubs can slot into the centres.

        id dump skd......

he has done nothing for us except made simple errors and played selfish football.

couple of weeks in newtown will do him good

              I'd personally say:
              1. Towers
              2. Perrett
              3. Williamson
              4. Maubs
              5. SKD
              6. Jones
              7. Pearce
              8. Nuuasala
              9. Friend
              10. Myles
              11. Cherrington
              12. Shack
              13. Fitzy

              14. Sa
              15. Paea
              16. Symonds
              17. Stanley Waqa

Although i do suppose putting towers at 5/8 would mean we could keep him in first grade when mini comes back, without too much of a shuffle

Towers is not a FG half, he is actually not a half at all. He had a blinder, yes, but he is a fullback/winger in the Roberts mould, he would be the ideal replacement for Waqa who looked hopelessly lost yesterday.

We need to get Towers, Williamson, Samuela and Maliota into the FG team as soon as possible to give them a good run, and I would also be looking into giving a shot to Dane Cordner (his brother Boyd is currently injured) and skipper Dylan Sharp (who looks like a young Fitzy) if given the chance.

It's a good side Mack, but we know it's not going to happen. Samuela is really nippy around the ruck, could do with him for 30 mins a game - and the pack in general you have there is well balanced and quite fast which is what we need......once again it won't be happening though.

Whilst it was a good win from the under 20's yesterday, let's not forget that you guys are trying to make a first grade team out of an under 20's team that is coming last. Then again what's the other option ? picking a first grade team from the dreggs of Newtown.......that are coming last.

                    We're screwed.

                    Continue.

The way I see it, guys like FG regulars Paea and Nuuausala provide a tonne of momentum when they come on the field, and would be complimented by a mobile backrow that is both skillful and good defensively. Both Paea and Nuuausala hit the ball up hard and have offloads, BUT they are liabilities in defense laterally, unfortunately.

Setaimata Sa and Anthony Cherrington both have linebreaking ability and can generate second-phase play through offloading, but are prone to being lazy and making fundamental errors at critical time in the games. However, if someone could get a rocket up them, both would be hugely beneficial to the progress of our team.

Mitchell Aubusson is a very skilled player at centre or lock who would benefit in being given a role much like Darren Smith or Steve Menzies, in that he won't be a workhorse lock, but rather an roaming attacking lock that injects himself into the attacking movements with well-timed precision, linking up with backline plays almost like a fullback.

Dylan Sharp from the U20's looks like a much younger Fitzgibbon - rangy, mobile tough nut with leadership potential who will tackle anything standing. I would consider giving him Fitzgibbon's spot next season if Ahern doesn't show enough to deserve him being retained beyond this season, considering we don't have many other options.

Nick Kouparitsas and Tom Symonds are similar players I think, both are skillful before the line and relatively crafty players, but what puts Symonds ahead in my opinion is that he is younger, and is far better at running good lines, hence why he has such a good ability to break the line at key moments. Symonds is a hell of a talent.

Next season, I would definitely be looking at:

                      8. FP Nuuausala
                      9. Jake Friend
                      10. Nate Myles/Martin Kennedy
                      11. Setaimata Sa
                      12. Dylan Sharp/Nate Myles
                      13. Mitch Aubusson

                      14. Olireti Samuela/James Aubusson
                      15. Tom Symonds
                      16. Anthony Cherrington
                      17. Lopini Paea

I think Stanley Waqa and Matthew Hall are write-offs, and the Cordner brothers and Warea-Hargreaves won't get into the first team straight away.

Hey Mack great thinking.. Although I'm over the Sa experiment.. Maybe Kearney would have a good influence?

I actually saw a lot of Andrew Ryan about Dylan Sharp..

Gee I likied the look of dane Cordner....loved it whe he dragged the Cowboys player off the ground and started belting him after that spear tackle! He and Boyd are both angry men

Precisely. Imagine a forward pack with big angry Novocastrians Dane and Boyd Cordner, massive Islander units Cherrington, Nuuausala, Paea and Maliota (boy has some serious ticker), two workhorses in Myles and Sharp, and some mobile widerunners like Sa, Aubusson and Symonds.

The problem with Ahern is that he really has no standout aspect to his game, though I appreciate his effort and commitment on the field. Kennedy looks to be a solid workhorse prop but I feel that the Cordner boys and Myles simply offer the same but better, and Waqa is in the mould of Paea, except nowhere near as dynamic or explosive.
