  • ‘Recovery session’ photos

On the Rooster’s socials - light session of passing the footy around, working on reaction time with tennis balls etc. looked like more of an opportunity for the boys to have an ‘easy’ training session with SBW back. IMO looks to have already lifted the team morale by their body language

    a few observations:

    - Aubo out there (somewhat participating but not with his injured arm) looking in good spirits, some sort of slight cast on his wrist but doesn’t look too bad? Not that I’m a doctor
    - Cordner looks well rested and in good spirits (no strapping anywhere - I know he was out with a head knock but at this stage of the season normally his legs start to go, so the time off may have done him well)
    - toops looked like he was walking freely (couldn’t see his ankle though)
    - Crichton also there participating but holding some sort of knee brace in his hand (so was walking without it on)
    - flanno in good spirits having a laugh
    - sbw our there (looking skinny actually) having a good time catching up with some of the boys
    - bmoz out there too looking healthy (participating)
    - JWH out there but both calves in guards
    - no keary (even attending or watching)
    - radley there looking like the is helping out but not participating

Good point about Cords. Could be a blessing in disguise that some of these guys will have been able to fix up other unrelated/minor injuries that they otherwise woulda been carrying.

Presumably SBW's 'not training' involves at least 3 hours of hardcore gym work + cardio every day? I'd be thinking his ball skills would be the only thing that'll be a little bit rusty (and again, 'rusty' for SBW = elite).

Victor was wearing a top with the words “Friendly F—-wits” on it. Apparently, he’d modified the words that were on a promotional shirt for Jake Friend’s plumbing business, Friendly Plumbers.

Was gonna say... is it odd seeing him on the field wearing full kit and chucking balls around with SBW?

Presumably the session's all about recovery and this doesn't mean he's gonna play again this year but like... it's a promising sign I hope! Looks fit and happy.

Cords has a tennis racquet... time for a game, lads!

Collins... eeerm... lost a tooth it seems?

Crichton still holding some sorta stick/brace or something? Walking with Toops who looks decent but dunno how he runs/leaps.

The enforced rest for many of our big names (esp forwards) will be a massive advantage in the finals.

SBW has a knee support on though- not sure if he has some knee problem- Maubs is seeing a specialist on Monday about the significant left wrist ligament tear- so I assume it may need surgery - 6 to 8 weeks out in that case- Robbo is saying he's not expecting anyone back round 15 although he was also saying there is an outside chance a player or 2 may return round 15.

torn left wrist ligament may require surgery- if so 6-8 weeks

Thanks for the observations Northy - sounds like there are certainly some encouraging signs for us, that's for sure. It should bode well for the start of the finals race and premiership tilt.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
