Big Lindsay was bagged incessantly last year - tonight he was clapped by the crowd at the SCG every time he ran the ball. He is in our starting 17 for the finals, for sure.
In past games , Sitili has had defensive lapses and has dropped the ball. He knows it and responds with tonight's performance. Robbo described him in the presser as "Dynamic". Some people on the forum say he is a work in progress and I agree. FFS he is fairly young and fairly new to first grade, and as the errors get ironed out of his game, he has the potential to become one of the Rooster's future stars.
Butcher was described as pedestrian and ordinary, and he comes up with tonight's game, and now everyone thinks he is brilliant.
IMO we are lucky to have such talents back up the senior guys in our squad. The coach recognizes it. These 3 might not be world beaters at the moment, much to the dismay of plenty of the chookpen members - but hey , give them time - they could be !!!!
It's not that we death ride them...

It's exactly as you mention, we know how good they are and what they're capable of... we just want to see consistency. Not just random glimpses.

      Hahah roasted...

we were waiting for a cab after the game last night and a big Bentley slowed near us after the wife randomly was waving her arms at it thinking it was some celeb driving a sweet car, it wound down the window and SBW was sitting in the driver seat! My wife was going nuts and he was just smiling politely and saying yes after she asked him twice if it was really him he let us take a photo and he then drove off before too many people caught on.

he still has that aura about him, and even at the game when he was shown on screen he got big cheers, it is amazing how he has so much star quality about him and will instantly be the most popular person in rugby league.

All the players seem really excited about it too, the Morris boys and Teddy always have big grins on their faces when asked about him, as if they know he will have a huge impact on the team, let’s hope it’s that little edge we get over the rest of the comp at the right time of the year.

it's incredible to think that the team that has every advantage might get the wooden spoon. good management is so imp. compare us with our handful of junior teams and them with the second biggest league city in the world all to themselves.

        • The biggest win for us last night was NO INJURIES, what a relief, secondly SST was given a well deserved break and seeing as Keary was injured has had 2 weeks on the sideline also I felt they were the two players they had not had a break, which leaves Manu who will be fine, and lastly all our injured players were moving freely JWH, Liu, Butcher, Cords, and Toops my god I missed watching him play welcome back love it when he gets into open space and draws the full back lovely inside pass to Teddy.

good stuff mate, and your wife, Teddy, Morrises, none of you are alone with that tingle at the sight of SBW, back at our club where he belongs.
No wonder the Moz's are sticking around, they must keep laughing with each other "I can't believe how happy I am"

More brilliant player management by Robbo.
he is good Robbo but I’m not 100% sure he orchestrated Jarred to shoulder Jake in the head after 20mins to give him a much needed rest?

he is tough though Freindy maybe that’s the only way Robbo could get him off?

im also not 100% sure that getting Jared’s shoulder to the head and subsequent concussion is quiet as good as a week off?

Of course you did, he scored a long distance try. A player scores a try and suddenly he has played a fantastic game.

                • Imagine what could have happened last night if the attack actually clicked and we completed better. I don’t think we looked sharp at all.

Thrilled by the scoreline but it was Brisbane. Our defence was soft at times.

You can just feel we are building.

                  • I thought Hutchison played a very good game.

Still mystified as to why Flanno got dropped. Did he screw someone’s misses?

yea flanno been great since returning, but hadn't done much wrong before that. I think he was getting a few wraps from the media and robbo wanted to keep it in check.

He ran the ball well last night.

It might have been the shove he needed.

Also much respect and credit to Lam who was playing really well and forced the change.

                          • flanno's goal kicking continues to be a real plus. not many kickers would have got 9 from 10 last night.

Will the match review committee charge JWH for the shoulder to the head of Friend?

                                Nice work Sir.

Jared is going to have to cop a week for it because of loading.
