  • Rads playing finals?

With him doing a bit of training and warming up with the boys do you think he is any chance of suiting up come finals time? Or am I just hoping?

I was thinking the same thing.

When he went down he almost looked like he was going to shake it off. He then made his way off the field mostly unassisted. What a boost that would be but where would it leave Sonny?

As great this might be it is 0 percent chance of happening.

If he had LARS maybe but I don't think he did.
Three months recovery way to early and risky.
          No chance.

Yeah would be crazy to risk him.

We already have a similar problem now because Robbo likes to have a backup for Friend on the bench. With Crichton coming back we will probably be left with only one genuine middle forward on the bench (Collins). Rads would just replace Friend's backup on the bench and play limited minutes. That means SBW may need to play up the middle, or work something out to keep Liu fresh enough to play up the middle.

I reckon Maubs and Butcher would be the ones to miss out on the bench:
              SBW
              Rads
              Collins
Sitili or Crichton (the other to start)

The more I think about it the less likely it will happen. Too much risk and not much to gain if Rads can't play a full game.

Complete knee movement and use within a couple of weeks of a successful ACL surgery is common, rebuilding the strength of the knee however takes a solid half a year.....won't happen.

I remember seeing shillington with his leg brace off after a few weeks and one of the punters asking him in bay 14 was he a chance of playing - next year was the reply - same for Rads

Why do people keep bringing up the possibility of Radley returning this year, there is exactly zero chance he plays again this year he had a traditional knee reconstruction and faces a 6-9 month recovery.

Billy Smith is more chance to make a recovery by Finals

Mate.....it's an ACL he did 2 months ago.

There is ZERO chance of Radley playing this year.

If i could place a bet on him not playing i'd throw my entire life savings at it.

You can come back from an ACL after 3 months, but with about a 50% chance of re-injury. The chance of re-occurrence reduces by about 10% for each month after that. It's simply not worth the risk, as if he did it again it would rule him out of a decent chunk of next season when we won't have Sonny to play that role.

There aren’t too many out there that could walk out of the field after an ACL injury like Rads did. Most have to be carried off in pain...meanwhile he’s clowning around in the sheds like nothings happened. If anyone could get back to training not long after an ACL it would be him cause he’s a tough little bugger But not that it would happen anyways.
