  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Raiders

Great to welcome back some troops in what is such an important game. It’s imperative we win the all important forward battle and we will get the 2 points.

It’s been 30 years since Canberra beat us twice in the one season. We are superior to them and we have strike all over the park. Our attack will need to be sharp. You can’t help but feel that Robbo has been gearing up for this game for a month. They embarrassed us last time. Tonight it’s time to avenge that embarrassment.

How dare Ricky Stuart snub Robbo at the grand final parade. Can’t wait to listen to his excuses at 10pm tonight.

Welcome back Sonny and congrats Josh Morris.

    Go Roosters!

Hoping to be wrong but I think Hutch may be coming in for Keary. I find it hard to believe Robbo would go into this game with no cover for Lussick. With the current listed 17, if Freddy goes down who goes to dummy half (and don’t say Manu!)?

That leads me to believe Hutch will be in the side and if he has to play 9 then SB can take over at 6. Or possibly Aubo for his versatility and ability to play 9 if required.

What do you guys reckon? Could Keary be out?

If we can't say Joey to 9, can we say him to 6>?

Just watched trents captains run interview and not one mention of Jake being out. Is jake being rested or is he still going thru concussion protocols. Good break for him regardless. I dont think we lose anything in our attack with Fredy in. I think fredy will deend next to boyd and jwh/collins.
going to be a ripper of a match. The first 10 will be intense

september footy in, well, september. got a finals feel about it this game with a top 4 spot in the balance.

we can win from outside the top 4, they can't. they will be desperate.

we don't have weeks of playing with the same team so hard to know what's going to happen.

              go easts!

We will win if we can manage a completion rate of over 80%.

                  Go Easts!

Jake out is a massive loss. Hope Freddy can handle the defensive workload. We lost it up the middle last time.

The bench of Collins, Butcher, Angus and SBW is close to if not the best we've had all year - this is were we should win it.

Agreed, this is our most crucial game to date. We really need to win and avenge the embarrassment of that slug papali walking through us to score. All the forwards need to step up and make up for the poor game last time. We have only won once in Canberra in the 8 years or more. This will be a forward battle and I don’t mind the idea of taking the current bench into the game. Lussick will play 80 and I assume Williams and Crichton will play both middle and edge if needed.
                      GO EASTS

Friend is a huge loss. There is a reason he is one of our captains and so highly rated by his team

Loss of Jake is major but young Freddy should handle it hopefully . With most of our troops back and the Morris boys on fire plus Swb I think we will smash them , Roosters by plenty

I got a gut feel Sonny won't play and Aubo will be a late inclusion for his versatility in 9, Halves or Edges.

Heard Sonny is still struggling with his knee and the media circus leading into the game could just be the smoke n mirrors for a late scratching.

But regardless, it's Jmoz 300th, let's celebrate the occasion as his own and I hope the boys respect him enough to put in that little extra to ensure he caps it off with a win.

3 tries from Jmoz, 1 for each century.
(3 from Bmoz too cause he's competitive would be nice)
