  • An Abundance of Hookers

Sorry but I am referring to Number 9s.

I reckon that Freddy Lussick put himself in the spotlight last night with that great defensive performance. Commentators referred to him as our 4th string hooker. Could even be our 5th choice cause I reckon Lam would have gotten the gig before Freddy if he were available.

With Jake around for at least next year, can the club hold
onto both Freddy and Sam V? I think clubs will be circling both these youngsters.

    Lam has just been resigned.

Verrills is locked in until the end of 2021 at least.

    Lussick's contact expires this year.

Friend is still here. But, it remains to be seen whether Robbo will tap him on the shoulder or not. IMO it's time for him to try and earn a final big payday before retirement, perhaps up north with the Broncos who really desperatly need someone like Jake for his leadership & ability.

We've got an overabundance and we have an expensive roster.

Under the assumption Flanagan will stay long term (who knows), i think we'll lose Lussick and I think Friend may potentially move on too.

    6.Keary
    7.Flanno
    9. Verrills
    14. Lam

If Flanagan leaves, we'd possibly see

    6. Keary
    7. Lam
    9. Verrills
    14. Lussick

If Friend & Flanno stay long term, we'd 100% lose both Lussick and Verrills to other clubs.

I believe both are from Manly

Add Api Korisau leaving for the Panthers

Manly have sold their silver to keep the gold....when their fit enough

Any club would be grateful to have such young and highly experienced players added to their roster

Mate if Im Manly Im all over either SV or Lussick both Manly juniors.
Not a hope in hell will the Roosters have Friend, Verrills, Lam & Lussick next year & nor should they. Its much better for the game if Verrills or Lussick are playing first grade at another club every week because they are both first grade material.
I saw an interview with Freddy Lussick with Rads after the win last night & he is such a lovely kid who is so humble & just fits into the culture of the Roosters beautifully just like Sammy Verrills. It will be a shame if 1 of them maybe even both of them move on but thats footy.

it wouldn't be right seeing Jake don other colours.. IMO he is a rooster for life, Nick loves the bloke and he has set himself up nicely off field so maybe next year will be his last.

He will only ever play for the Roosters & he will retire from the Roosters on his terms. He is Robbos favourite because Robbo & every player at the club consider him the toughest player in the club. Its a huge thing to be considered the toughest player in a footy club its like being the National President of a bikie gang. Actually Robbo would be the National President Friendy would be the National Sargent of Arms.

I would bet my balls that Jake Friend never plays for another club.

With Jake aside (as I think he, like Aubo, would retire before playing with another club), I believe our priority needs to be Verrills, followed by Lam (for his utility value) then Lussick. I too am resigned to the fact that we will be unable to retain them all.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Now that Lam has signed on an extended deal, if Friend stays until retirement then Verills & Lussick will both be poached by other clubs. That's the long and short of it. The only thing that would prevent that outcome would be Flanno leaving

Lussicj for my money ...has more vision .Toughness like Jakey .Younger...that is if Jake goes another year Lussick will be capable of been no 2 and bide time..let go of the more expensive one.

On Lam I saw him yesterday walking down by the beach with his mum. He was walking 100% fine - no strapping no limp. Looked recovered.....

I think manly got rid of api because they had fainu( who looked real good).

sam walker is also in the convo. if he comes on then we won't be keeping both flanno and lam.

earlier in the season when it was announced that jake would be signing one year contracts from here on in he was interviewed and i got the impression that he wants to play on for as long as possible so that's also a factor.

if we want to sign sammy long term we need to wrap him up before nov 1. if we do that i hope we sign freddy for another year which kicks the can down the road a bit and we can see how jake's body is holding up.
