  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Knights

Let’s back up our great defensive performance from last week by keeping these bunch of wannabes to zero. They need a reminder that they are just there to make up the numbers.

Their coach broke his contract with us, thinking he was off to greener pastures. Their alcoholic dog loving halfback walked out on our club. He had the chance to stay. Let’s rub it in today.

We need to build on last weeks win. Competition for spots in our pack is rife. Our guys will want to dominate their pack. Our backs will school that bunch of no names in their backline.

There is no reason we can’t put on a cricket score.

    Go Roosters!

Thanks Thirteen for the match day thread , always enjoy it. We should win this comfortably even with players missing. Would be surprised if Cords plays even know he is named . Take no team lightly as thats a mistake we seem to make against lower team . Collins to have a blinder as Jwh replacement.

Hope SBW can keep working on those cobwebs and play at least 40 minutes

25 minutes might be a stretch.

The nerves and intensity of last week's game took there toll on how long he could play. If there is no scoreboard pressure I hope robbo leaves him out there to find that second wind ...

come on chooks, should be a comfy win, but often in games like this we struggle, Newcastle aren't a bad side , but not a great one. chooks by 10, not a smashing might be one of them dull games were ahead 16 6 at halftime and win 22 12, with the chooks threatening to break loose but never doing so. well bomb tries left and right, but never look like losing.

Big mention to mitch aubbuson who will equal the club record for most club appearances. 150 nrl games for luke as well so lets get it.

Let’s not sugar coat this. They are missing their only dangerous attacking player. No excuses not to smash them.

Some of you would be nervous playing against a woman’s NRL side.

                  Relax, we’ve got this!

Yes. And next week an even bigger occasion when Aubo breaks the record.

I wish Newcastle had their top team in but thats footy. Its going to be a tough night for Pearcey, no kissing the emblem tonight.
                        Go the Mighty Roosters.

Yes, let's educate this mob about what it means to take on the might of the Roosters - a premiership super heavyweight! I don't greatly dislike Newcastle, but it is now time for us to step up in that all important building period ahead of the business end of the season. Do not take the foot off the pedal or their throats boys!

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Before we win anything tonight we need to win the forward battle. Saifiti and Klemmer will be massive for a while esp with JWH and potentially Boyd out.
I see it being close for the first 60 with Easts jumping out to a 10 point lead by the end. Not a walk in the park, but do the basics right and we win.

Knights have been struggling for awhile and with so much competition for spots in our team I can't see any complacency from the roosters.
Our defence has really tightened up lately in preparation for the finals and with the return of our back 5 I expect our attack to have far too much firepower for the Knights.
                              Easts to win.... comfortably
